Today I've decided to make dancing flames. It's done by burning a mixture of aluminum, copper sulfate and hydrochloric acid, and it's something that I saw on the internet.

In this video I show how I made a roughly 2M solution of stannous chloride using HCl and tin metal.
This solution will be used in 2 future videos: phenylhydrazine synthesis and for growing tin crystals

Hey guys, finally I got around to burning all the mercury thiocyanate that I made in a previous video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSDpgBOtSNY
I tried to burn it in a few different ways, but the 300+g that I made didn't actually go as far as I thought it would.
This video is free to Patreons. All non-synthesis/in-depth videos that I post and not charged to Patreons.

Ice normally floats on water because as water freezes it expands, and the density of the solid becomes less than the liquid. This on the other hand is an ice cube that I made, but this one's kind of special, because it's able to sink.

In this video, I will be refining mercury metal from mercury sulfide (cinnabar). This is a chemical method, which is safer than the typical heated one.
It is a follow-up to this video: https://youtu.be/S4T57SFntIs
This process was developed by Plante1999 from the Sciencemadness forums (https://goo.gl/W2LdWM)

Today we are making a bromoalkane using the NaBr/H2SO4 method. In a previous video I did the PBr3 method, but this one is honestly a lot better (at least for 1-bromopentane).

What I have here looks just like a generic rock, but it's actually pretty dangerous. All of the white stuff is actually asbestos, which is horrible to breathe in.

Hello guys!
I FORGOT TO ADD. ALWAYS USE UNSCENTED SALTS!!
Today we will be preparing some magnesium sulfate drying agent. Its preparation is very similar to how others are prepared and we are just going to use it as an example.

I am poor, but I managed to scrape some funds together to buy a Panasonic GH4, which shoots in 4K. So from now on, Ill be filming in 4K. I have 17 videos filmed using my other camera, the Canon 6D, so what is released will be a mix of 4K and 1080p for a little bit.
This is a shot of when I made bromine a few days ago using MnO2/H2SO4. The first video using my new camera.
