In this video we will explore how to use the powerful search options within Omnisphere to find and locate the type of sound that you want. This avoids the inspiration sucking pastime of preset surfing until you happen along the sound you want or can at least tweak.
I have called the video Omnisphere - Search & Destroy as with the search facility you can find the sound and then destroy it until it fits within the track you are working on.
Omnisphere uses a search engine structure called Boolean Search, named after George Boole. You can find more information about the system and also Mr Boole using these links.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Boole
https://bit.ly/2OWAMWo
Omnisphere uses the logic gates of OR, AND, and, NOT to help you find the sound you are after. What you see in the video works in both the Patch Browser and Multi Browser. You can use the little toggles at the top of each column or you can select multiple tags using ctrl/command and ALT/option keys.
The commands are as follows:-
OR - Command/Click (MAC) Control/Click (PC)
AND - COMMAND/CONTROL/CLICK (MAC) Control/Right Click (PC)
NOT - Option/Click (MAC) Command/Option/Click (Multiple Selections) (MAC)
Alt/Click (PC) Control/Alt/Click (Multiple Selections) (PC)
You can also type expressions into the Search field to filter your results.
For example:* Typing “Film and Electronic” will include Patches that fit both genres.
Typing “Film or Electronic” will include Patches with either Attribute.
Typing “Film and not Electronic” will include Patches suitable for Film, but not ones that are Electronic.
Parenthesis can also be used for multiple criteria selection:
(Film or Electronic) and (Dramatic and not Disturbing).

In Part Seven of our #omnisphere instalment it is time to look at the Harmonia section. We step through what each parameter within this section can do and how it #transforms our #sound. Harmonia can help you achieve instant chords by playing just one note, all the way to creating some really big sounds
Please like and share this video around the internet.
To end the video we take what we have learnt so far with LFO's, FM, Ring Modulation, Waveshaper and now Harmonia to make a #cinematic / #atmospheric patch.

Time to check out whether etherium for omnisphere holds up five years after its initial release. This video showcases the multis available from this patch library
**Spoiler Alert** It does hold up and still sounds as fresh as it did the day it was released **Spoiler Alert**

When you listen to the multis from etherium, you can a subtle breath quality in the sound. This gives the sound a feeling of it being alive and breathing. The sequenced patterns use the still fairly new guitar stumming patterns, which arrived with Spectrasonics 2.8 alongside the Sonic Extensions.

Birth of a Distant Star is taken from my 2019 album Cosmic Voyager Vol.1 available on my website at www.adrianearnshaw.com. You can also get it from all good streaming and digital stores.
Although upbeat it has a laid back vibe that takes you on the cosmic journey of the birth of a star. The light of the star takes millions of years to reach our little blue planet that is just a speck in the universe.
Similar in style to Tangerine Dream and Jean Michel Jarre with a little sprinkle of my own style. This track is for all you who like ambient and electronic music.
Created using Spectrasonics Omnisphere and recorded in Steinberg Cubase.

Away in a Manger: A Cradle Song Steeped in Mystery and Meaning
"Away in a manger, no crib for a bed," the gentle melody carries us to a quiet stable, where the miracle of Christmas unfolds. This beloved carol, often sung by little voices echoing in churches and homes, holds a special place in our hearts, but its origins are surprisingly shrouded in a bit of mystery.
Born Under Bethlehem's Star:
While long attributed to the 16th-century reformer Martin Luther, "Away in a Manger" actually emerged much later, most likely in the late 19th century. The first known appearance of its lyrics dates back to 1882, published in an American newspaper. Although its exact birthplace remains unclear, some believe it originated among German-American communities in Pennsylvania.
A Simple Song, a Profound Message:
Written in simple, childlike language, the carol paints a vivid picture of the Nativity scene – the humble manger, the gentle animals, and the wonder of angels watching over the newborn Jesus. Its lyrics, filled with innocence and adoration, capture the essence of Christmas: love, humility, and the promise of a divine gift.
Melodies Through Time:
"Away in a Manger" has been blessed with several beautiful melodies. The most recognizable, with its lilting, almost lullaby-like quality, is attributed to William J. Kirkpatrick in 1895. Another popular version, slightly brighter and more joyful, comes from James R. Murray in 1887.
A Global Embrace:
Despite its American roots, "Away in a Manger" has transcended borders and languages. Translated into countless tongues, it resonates with hearts around the world, carrying a message of peace and hope that transcends cultural differences.
Join us on a journey into the charm and mystery of "Away in a Manger" in this video. So snuggle up with your loved ones, let the music envelop you, and rediscover the timeless magic of this beloved Christmas carol.

In this video, I explain why I bounce my MIDI tracks down to audio before I start mixing. We then move on to how the foundations of the track where laid down and reflect once again on that all important bass sequence.
I finish off by explaining a little about my mixing technique and how I introduce panning on certain tracks to give it that all important stereo width.
