Variable Speed Pump Schedule For Round Above Ground Pool
From https://www.swimmingpoolsteve.com/pages/vs-programming.html - Learn how to make a variable speed pump schedule for a 30 foot round swimming pool to reach the recommended filtration goal of three turnovers daily. See an example of a running schedule and how much it would cost for this specific system. These numbers are dynamic and unique to this system as the numbers for your swimming pool would be unique to only your system. This test is set up with 2" pipes, a 1.5 hp variable speed pump and a 150sf cartridge filter. #poolpump #abovegroundpool #efficiency #swimmingpool #cleanpool ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fa4_M7OszzQ

From https://www.swimmingpoolsteve.com/pages/bond-concrete.html - Bonding new concrete to old concrete with latex (or acrylic latex), a synthetic version of latex, is one of the preferred methods for enhancing concrete bonds as well as improving water resistance, chemical resistance and resistance to freeze and thaw cycles. A bonding slurry with latex fortifier and portland cement (and sometimes sand) can be used to enhance the bond between new concrete and old concrete.

From https://www.swimmingpoolsteve.com/pages/new-pool-owners.html - The first and most obvious reason that more people do not own swimming pools is simply because they are so expensive. Owning or installing a swimming pool is a massive luxury that most people simply cannot afford to have. It is also worth noting that you would have to have not just your own home but also a property with that home that is large enough to have a swimming pool. Again this is just not something that everyone can afford.
In addition to the obvious cost concerns there is also the question of safety. There are a lot of people, especially people with small children in the home, who would simply just not consider to own a swimming pool for safety reasons. Even though there are safety mechanisms in place such as self closing gates, door and window alarms, and even automatic swimming pool covers this is still not enough to satisfy the safety requirement for some people. Another common reason why people do not get swimming pools is simply because there is so much commitment involved. When you own or install a swimming pool that means you are married to it. Year after year you will need to maintain it whether you are using it or not. This represents both a time and a money commitment. In total owning a swimming pool can be fantastic but realistically it is just not something that everyone can afford or wants to have.

From https://www.swimmingpoolsteve.com/pages/bd-review.html - This is a test of a Black + Decker Variable Speed pool pump. The pump is paired with a 150sqf cartridge filter running on a 2" PVC plumbing system with a total dynamic head of approximately 30 feet. Every swimming pool system is different and this is just an example of a starting point for comparison.
This is the 1.5 horsepower version of the Black + Decker variable speed pool pump on the following 24 hour schedule:
1200rpm - 5AM-1PM
2500rpm - 1PM-6PM
1200rpm - 6PM-1AM
3200rpm - 1AM-5AM
This 24 hour dynamic variable speed schedule results in 70,140 gallons of water filtered and a total power consumption of 9.63 kW. The national average cost for electricity is $0.13/kWh making this 24 hour pump schedule cost about $1.25 per day.

From https://www.swimmingpoolsteve.com/pages/question4.html this video looks at the idea of building your own DIY swimming pool. Is it a good ideal to build your own pool or a bad idea to build your own pool? In reality this is a complex question and everyone is different in terms of available budget, the technical skills you bring to the table, your timeline, your expectations of function...for most people building a DIY pool will be too much. If you would never consider to build your own house then perhaps building your own inground pool is not a good idea. You can explore above ground pools and on ground pools as alternatives which can get you swimming with less project expense and difficulty than a fully inground concrete, vinyl liner or fiberglass pool.

From http://www.swimmingpoolsteve.com/pages/vinyl-liners.html - Steve talks about the very common question in the pool industry "can you reuse a pool liner" which in the vast majority of cases, is no. Pool liners shrink and lose elasticity over time. Once they have been exposed to UV and chemicals, the liner will no longer stay supple, and if left to dry out, will end up becoming brittle like glass.
