Oil Prices Hit Seven-Week Low! Will Gas Prices Follow Suit? West Texas Crude Falls Below $79
West Texas Intermediate crude futures have fallen below $79 per barrel, reaching their lowest point since March 12. Investors are concerned that an economic slowdown could be on the horizon, contributing to this drop in oil prices. Despite this, gas prices haven't mirrored the decline just yet. In the Austin area, gas is averaging $3.30 per gallon, which is five cents higher than last week, according to AAA.

Breaking News: UT Austin Protest Escalates: Pro-Palestine Demonstration Meets Police Force!
What began as a peaceful pro-Palestine demonstration at the University of Texas at Austin spiraled into chaos Wednesday afternoon. Initially planned as a sit-in with educational sessions, the event quickly grew tense due to a heavy police presence equipped with batons, chemical agents, and pepper bullets. The peaceful intentions of the UT students, who gathered to express solidarity and march across campus, were overshadowed by aggressive police interventions. The enforcement was so strict that students were even banned from stepping on the lawn, facing immediate force upon approach. Amidst this turmoil, the protesters' plea was clear: their funds should not support what they describe as genocide.
Transcript: This was supposed to be a peaceful demonstration. Chaos erupts on the University of Texas at Austin's campus during a pro-Palestine protest Wednesday afternoon. The original itinerary of this sit-in included scholastic teachings, but the presence of police with batons, chemical weapons, pepper bullets is making us all on edge. UT students in support of Palestine planned a walkout on campus Wednesday morning to show their solidarity. The plan was to march in protest across the university, but that was cut short when students were met by multiple law enforcement agencies brought in to control the crowds. Every escalation has been done by the police. Students were banned from stepping on the lawn. Law enforcement agencies surrounded the grass, and when students came close, they were met with force. Our money should not be funding a genocide. That is the simplest message.
