It was such a good summary of the realities of the 1861-65 War of Secession I wanted to ensure there were copies on alt-tech sites.
I have changed the music to Public Domain songs by Tchaikovsky and Mozart. The music chosen in the original video is used a song from “Schindler’s List”, and I want to avoid pedo-wood copyright attacks that may otherwise see this valuable short presentation erased from the internet
I learned in the past couples years that my understanding of the US Civil War and the Southern States were informed by a lifetime of half truths and lies. My education I have undertaken on the real Dixie these past couple of years. While not of Dixie’s soil, I hold the South near to my heart.
I made this montage in tribute to one of the finest men who ever graced this earth.

The history and stories of coal miners is an amazing heritage we must not forget. A short montage of old miner photography.

I discovered Dabney and this essay in 2021. I was first struck by his impressive and arresting writing style. What is more impressive is his prescience regarding how the expansion of “the Franchise” especially into the female sphere was wrought with folly and ruin. While the time it has taken for this ruin and rot to set in is likely longer than he expected, 150 years later much of his predictions have come to pass in one form or another. He focuses on Women here, but if you listen carefully to this essay you will see that he understands that Universal Suffrage to men is also harmful.
My own take on Dabney’s core principles are in general agreement-voting, as a practice of politics will generally lead to bad outcomes, especially so with a spiritually bereft people.
I am nothing more than an intermediate shooter, but I certainly enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience. I took a specific clip for my earlier “First Shots” video and did an isolated edit to demonstrate some of the shooting techniques I have learned over the past couple years that has me breaking more clays (and hopefully hitting more birds in the field).
In this Range Short has me checking and practicing with my Weatherby Vanguard chambered in .30-06 for fall hunting preparation. This gun has performed and got me a kill in both the previous hunting seasons I have owned it.
I am an adult on-set hunter, and all my shots have been at closer ranges, but I found a sweet whitetail spot on one of my permissions that will see a lot of longer range opportunities. I wanted to adjust me sights at 100M to shoot 3.5 inches high, and see where the ammunition would drop at 300M (to be more comfortable with a longer range opportunity). I don’t reload my own ammunition yet, and am using Federal Premium with a 165 grain Nosler Accubond bullet.
After adjusting the elevation at 100M I expected about 6 to 7 inches of drop from my point of aim with this ammuntion at 300M. It did exactly what I thought it would do.
