When we first come into physical manifestation, we are radiant beings--made of love and light. But, after being in this ego-based world for awhile, we are put down, abused, and both physically and emotionally hurt so much that each blow takes its toll on us, and we become more and more dense, and more and more worn down. Just as a creek can become dammed up, starting with just one single twig, that then catches another and another until the flow is impeded or stopped., so too do our wounds accumulate and and block our flow. And it all began when we first chose to listen to our ego and its erroneous beliefs that we are separate from God and are somehow flawed beings. These beliefs cause our wounds, which then accumulate and become our patterns of life. The path of healing involves having the courage to first own the masks we wear to cover up our wounds. Then we need to learn to process our wounds (which is done on a consistent basis throughout our life). And, we need to create a healthy and applicable relationship with God--even throughout our healing process. Having this relationship with Spirit is the only thing that can truly fill the empty space left in our soul from the healing we do.
