Rather than opening w3m by typing w3m -B and then pressing a keyboard shortcut to open our fsz surfraw prompt i created a script called ws which brings up the surfraw prompt in the terminal and then opens the results with w3m
This save 7 or 8 key strokes giving us more time for tea and biscuits

ITVX is the replacement for itv hub which allowed you to watch the live itv channels in your browser as well as view catch up shows and movies.
ITVX seems to have removed the live tv channels from the site and mpv player which could previously play all the catch up shows and movies no longer works
Im not sure if the catch up shows now use drm which wasnt the case before or if yt-dlp needs to be updated for ITVX

Retroarch Ubuntu 20.04 install and Sinclair Spectrum core set up and keyboard and gamepad config
note you need to set the user device type 1 to kempton joystick
and user device type 3 to sinclair keyboard for the Spectrum core,
and you may also need to map the keys to your gamepad as well
Install retroarch:
sudo apt install retroarch
Edit your retroarch.cfg config file:
vi ~/.config/retroarch/retroarch.cfg
change the libretro_directory and libretro_directory_info paths
set the menu_show_core_updater to true and change input_game_focus_toggle from scroll_lock to another key on your keyboard
libretro_directory = "~/.config/retroarch/cores"
libretro_info_path = "~/.config/retroarch/cores/info/"

Mac OSX El Capitan fixed bug
# mac osx readme
https://github.com/NapoleonWils0n/kodi-playercorefactory/tree/master/macosx
You need to install ffmpeg, ffplay, ffprobe, wget and rtmpdump to the following locations
$HOME/bin/ffmpeg
$HOME/bin/ffplay
$HOME/bin/ffprobe
/usr/local/bin/wget
/usr/local/bin/rtmpdump
If they are installed in a different location create a symbolic link to the location specified above
symbolic link syntax
ln -s /path/to/source /path/to/destination
for example to create a symbolic link for ffmpeg from /usr/local/bin/ffmpeg to $HOME/bin/ffmpeg
ln -s /usr/local/bin/ffmpeg ~/bin/ffmpeg
We have to specify the exact location of the binaries in the scripts to get them to work in El Capitan

Have you updated doom-modeline in emacs and found all the icons in the modeline are now missing and replaced with a square with a broken font in them.
emacs doom-modeline has switched from using all-the-icons to nerd-icons to display icons in the modeline so you need to install the nerd-icons package and run M-x nerd-icons-install-fonts to install the necessary fonts.
