One of the government's main security concerns is to keep the country safe from a pro-Gadhafi counterrevolution. The risk is that Libya could follow a pattern seen in other post-authoritarian countries, from Russia to Iraq, in which new leaders weaken the rule of law in the interest of power or stability.
Since Gadhafi's overthrow in a bloody conflict last year, Libya's caretaker government has created two new national-security agencies—one called Preventive Security, for domestic intelligence, and one called Foreign Security, for operations abroad.
The effort is headed by 50-year-old Salem al-Hasi, a long-exiled anti-Gadhafi activist and Islamic scholar who, in just months, has gone from working as a language teacher at a U.S. military college in Georgia to serving as Libya's new national intelligence chief.
Electronic surveillance is a sensitive subject for Libya's new leaders. In an interview, Mr. Hasi's deputy denied that Libya has put Gadhafi-era surveillance gear to use. "We don't have the staff or know-how to do this," said Mustafa Nu'ah, the deputy, in a brief phone interview.

One Problem is the huge distraction from creation of wealth and eradication of conditions that increase poverty.
We looked and saw last week we had 6 big media companies -- where the news broadcast medium (network) were worth about 15 billion each -- but were embedded in conglomerates controlled by private equity & Mutual Funds
We saw that the big 6 contractors to the govt had 53 billion equity investments from the big 6 private equity firms
These companies sales were about 40 billion to the US Govt, but it turns out there is one more thing they do for the MIC --the govt is the seller of weapons systems to foreign countries. By becoming a countries primary source of military systems -- it makes that country very dependent on you -- unless they buy systems that can be maintained with parts from multiple power blocs such as in Turkey certain US fighter jet designs are licensed to be produced there.
This FMS program brings in another 40 billion a year.
Perhaps in a sense we should view each fed beuracracy as a corporate like power structure
Defense P.Os from govt are abt 59 B of 126B in govt contractor sales. More than half of sales to govt are military in nature -- in addition FMS adds 40 B
Up until now ive been looking at who owns things -- but there is another perspective
The Federal agencies are power structures unto themselves -- they could view the businesses as their puppets -- servant and master could reverse or both could be true

In my view there is precious little real journalism left in America. These people are like a culled population.
Now what is this Charles Krautheimer maneuver. To co-opt and dilute the Ron Paul message. The young recognized in Obama's message some truths -- but the messenger -- was not the message -- he did none of the things he said. Why because we did not look at his record -- of compromise -- that is "selling out". Now another carries an anti establishment message. The youth flock to him "we wont be fooled again"
1. What does the media cover ? I have not yet seen one show on how any of these candidates will affect these key measurements of advancement.
2. Obama has not done anything progressive since he came to office
a. A Constitutional scholar -- scheming to dismantle the constitution
b. An antiwar candidate -- expanding American attacks on countries all over the war
c. A people's candidate -- who has done nothing for home owners, whose stimulus program had very little impact.
d. The media pundits actually think they are more powerful than the peoples candidate
3. The real bedrock of a strong country is its long term prospects. By spending massive amounts on defense now -- we are guaranteed to become weak and vulnerable later -- it is a prescription for disaster. Our real national security threat is economic decline not foreign invasion!
