The danger about being gay in prison is the people you get closest to. A lot of the outside world have this false perception that most gays, if not all of them, are constantly attacked randomly by anyone and everyone inside prison. Weirdly, that is not true because gay people in prison have a lot of admirers who will protect them. This is what makes the real danger. People who look after the gay people or protect them start to feel a sense of ownership or possession and when that ownership is threatened in some way that where the danger comes into play, unfortunately, for the gay person.
