Parker Gallant has written a series of blog posts that explore the “Pan Canadian Expert Collaboration” – the taxpayer-funded $20 million group who were to look into carbon pricing and climate change policies. He found a rabbit warren of back-scratching, tax-subsidized charities, green crony capitalists and not an impartial one amongst them. This video introduces the public to Parker Gallant’s amazing series of articles: https://parkergallantenergyperspectivesblog.wordpress.com/?s=phase+one
Parker Gallant is a former international banker who began looking into the reasons for skyrocketing power prices in Ontario. This led him into writing many articles for national news papers and setting up his “Energy Perspectives” blog. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TwY7RW2GHnk
A flurry of open letters to government from ENGOs demanding investments for a 'green' resilient recovery, and a policy brief from a group of environmental groups demanding a climate accountability law that would enshrine Paris Agreement targets threaten the economy and future of Canada, says Friends of Science. Reports by Ottawa energy policy consultant, Robert Lyman, show that Canada already has 600 greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction laws/regulations/incentives in place and fuel taxes are already beyond $192/t carbon tax equivalent! What could another law accomplish? Michelle Stirling, Communications Manager for Friends of Science explains that Canada's vast, cold, sparsely populated nature means dramatic reductions are unlikely - and Robert Lyman's recent reports - "Broken Promises", "Empty Wallets", and "Empty Promises" show that renewables, clean tech and 'green' jobs' will do more harm than good to Canada's economy. Likewise, ENGO climate hysteria is not supported by the evidence in two new reports on the faulty model-based "climate prophecies". "Gasthma Freaks" beware. This is a trigger warning. Michelle Stirling, Communications Manager for Friends of Science Society is about to show you her late mother's natural gas stove which her mother cooked on from 1948 to 2008...and it had a pilot light of natural gas burning all the time! No one suffered from asthma in the family. Her mom lived into her 90s! Michelle gives a show and tell on how it used to be a bit awkward to light the oven in such a stove. She also tells a bit of a story about her Mom's affection for having the tea kettle also on a low boil during the day, just like back in the old days on the farm. So, don't freak out! Positive comments about natural gas use in this video may be triggering to some. If you like the fact that we don't fall for climate dogma - in fact, we push back against it - please support us! We are now in our 21st year of operation and even a $21 donation would help. etransfer: contact@friendsofscience.org Or go on line and join/donate/surf our site. http://www.friendsofscience.org

The focus on NetZero and reduction of carbon dioxide has people demanding that we 'get off fossil fuels' to 'solve the problem.' Dr. In Clark counters with 'what problem' - and then points out that realistically it will take about 200 years to get off fossil fuels, if that's what people decide we must do.
He suggests that perhaps to reduce emissions, choosing natural gas over coal is an option, but all fossil fuel power plants have a very small land footprint and high energy density compared to wind and solar. Dr. Clark discusses how human industrial emissions of carbon dioxide are cycled into a much larger natural carbon cycle about every four years. Though many people claim human emissions are driving climate change, Dr. Clark points out that even the IPCC agrees that about 75% of the temperature change since the Little Ice Age is due to natural facts, not human. However, the modest warming may be keeping us from another Little Ice Age, or perhaps will modify such impact. Dr. Clark explains that cooling periods lead to a drop in agricultral output, famine and civil unrest, while "optimums" (warm cycles) allow human civilization to flourish. COVID and climate policies share a fundamental problem - computer simulations (also known as models) drive them. They also share a common challenge - the silencing or shaming those who question either set of policies. Recently, elected officials have started calling lockdown protestors 'white supremacists' because the protestors used Tiki torches or images from the Charlottesville. It should be noted that the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) feels so strongly about freedom of speech for EVERYONE - including bigots - that they have gone to court to ensure that even bigoted views could be heard. While this seems reprehensible to Canadians, freedom of speech is also integral to our Charter, as is the right to peacefully protest. This video explains that the lockdowns originated with someone who has offered many failed predictions in the past, and who is not qualified in epidemiology. Recently, Prof. Douglas Allen of Simon Fraser University has done a study of lockdown policies through 80 academic papers, finding that there are many flaws in the inputs. The Epoch Times reports that: "Based on his lost-life calculation, lockdown measures have caused 282 times more harm than benefit to Canadian society over the long term, or 282 times more life years lost than saved." Clearly, most of the people protesting lockdowns are ordinary Canadians who are suffering from bad COVID policies - they do not deserve to be called names for speaking up for their rights and needs. Now people see the real damage that faulty models cause society - the same thing is happening with climate policies and their reliance on equally poor climate models. It is time for open, civil debate - not more name-calling. An adult debate on COVID and Climate policies is necessary before the climate activists try to impose ever more damaging climate lockdowns on society.

Join Friends of Science Society, and your host Michelle Stirling, for our 19th Annual Climate Science Event, with two on-line Free presentations with live Q&A. On May 2, 2022, at 6pm MDT, Australian geologist and Emeritus Professor Ian Plimer will present: "Climate change: The past is the key to the present". Dr. Plimer also recently released a new book called "Green Murder - A Life Sentence of Net Zero with No Parole." On May 9th, 2022 at 7pm MDT, popular Australian science writer, blogger and speaker, Joanne Nova, will give us a lesson on the sad renewables experience in Australia with "How to destroy a perfectly good electricity grid in one million expensive steps." Each event will feature live Q&A following the presentation. The events will be live streamed from our YouTube channel. The event recordings and power points will be posted on our website at https://friendsofscience.org/index.php?id=2825.

Friends of Science celebrate 10 years of challenging conventional thinking on Catastrophic Anthropogenic (human-caused) Global Warming; careful review of peer-reviewed scientific papers lead this group of retired atmospheric and earth scientists to conclude that the sun is the main driver of climate change, not CO2 and not you. "Consensus" and "computer simulations" do not meet the standards of the Scientific Method which is what the Friends of Science stand for.

Media pundits and politicians have mocked the Canadian Energy Centre for creating a petition to Netflix, denouncing the representation of the oil industry in the film "Bigfoot Family" and demanding that the energy industry be presented in a more realistic, rational light - especially as this is a film for kids. Michelle Stirling, Communications Manager for Friends of Science Society, reviews how the film denigrates oil while at the same time, hypocritically showing the use of oil throughout. Netflix itself is a huge energy consumer. Michelle exposes the hypocrisy and shows that kids are being primed for eco-martyrdom, explaining how in real life it is the Tar Sands Campaigners, the eco-martyrs and eco-warriors are the ones who put lives at risk, which is the exact opposite of what is shown in "Bigfoot Family".
