Unrestrict your visibility out your FMTV windshield with this inexpensive and effective alternative. Simple to construct and easy to replace. Be sure to stay tuned to the end for some clips that have been left on the editor's floor, but found again by the Director! LOL! I first bought an 1/8" aluminum flat bar that was 2" wide, but decided it was not wide enough and an inexpensive metal roof material would not only work much better with my dash mats, but was also wider than the flat bar. Ensure you leave a 3/16 - 1/4" gap (NO MORE) between the window and the defog vent plate. This will ensure the entire cavity is "charged" with warm and slightly compressed air from the heater system. The air will be forced out along the entire window and not just where the heater blower pushes it out (right in the middle of the window). If you have problems defogging the extreme left and right edges of the window, add small pieces of gasket between the windshield and the vent cover, leaving 3-4" sections completely open for warm air to blow out of.
