Part 2 and final part of my interview on @1+1 hosted by Youri Smouter (sometimes Yuri) where speak to Laith Marouf. I speak to Palestinian-Syrian Canadian Laith Marouf an unapologetically outspoken Anti-racist/Anti-Zionist/Anti-imperilaist and racial/social justice voice who spent his time in university and much of his adult life fighting for Palestine solidarity as well as Anti-Middle Easternism racism, Anti-Arab, and Islamophobia in Canada and elsewhere. Laith and I discuss the hidden history of Palestine, how Israel dosen't just discriminate against Palestinian muslims but all of the Indigenous Arabs of historic, displaced and occupied Palestine, from Christians, to secular folks, to devout Muslims. How the Zionist movement and its Western Christian backers committed terrorist acts and engaged in bribery and divide and conquer to make Iraqi, Moroccan and other Jews in the Middle East and North Africa leave their countries to become setler colonialist only to be met with racism amongst European Jews and Jews of Turtle Island who looked down upon then for not coming from European Jewish and North American background and the school of Judaism they follow. We also talk about how Zionists and their supporters deliberately used the term antisemitism to claim a false Indigeneity over a land Indigenous to Arabic people and others who were Indigenous to historic/occupied/displaced Palestine. and we also talk about whether there is any hope for Palestine justice, a democratic secular one state solution given soo much state hostility and cynical opportunism to justice for Palestine and so much tone and language policing over Palestine justice folk or even a Pan- Middle Easternist project which is leftwing, secular, feminist and accommodates Kurds, Druze, Christians, Jews, Secular folks, Yazidis, and Iranians who speak Persian, Farsi, aren't Arabic and Turkey and Muslims of all sects? Laith's responses to that and how Lebanon can advanced as a united people against imperialism and Gulf colonialism will interest many people. We also talk about Laith battles against the cancel culture and inconsistent free speech warriors that is the far-right and Zionists advocates in Israel. He's been twice the subject to intense smear campaigns and recently has been tarred and feathered by the National Post, Toronto Sun, other far-right media outlets of Post-Media, but even the CBC and Canadian Press and The Israel Lobby over tweets of Laith, some indeed not very PC, some, one can denounce, but the bulk is just fake outrage against a truly unapologetically outspoken Palestnian voice who speaks out and calls Zionism a racist ideology, Israel a White Jewish Supremacist state/ apartheid and settler colony that he compares to that of Turtle Island, South Africa under racial apartheid/racial capitalism. the cancel culture campaign against Laith has taken a huge shot at his reputation, the media advocacy group he was a consultant to is under threat of policing the words and thoughts of anyone Indigenous, Black or Midlde Eastern voices or Mualima who want to speak out and critically cover Israel.
