So I'm pretty bummed about this. The Silver Snail Ottawa location will be closing September 13th. This has been my favourite comic store for 25 years since they opened in 1990. This is where I met Darkstorm Reviews' Ralph Gethings and even when I got out of comics for a few years, I still popped in once in a while just to check things out and was happy to know it was there. I guess I felt like it would always be there. The Manager, Kin Jee has been there since the beginning and it's going to feel all kinds of strange and bullshit to not go there and pick up my comics from him every Wednesday. I wish him and the rest of the staff all the best and will make sure to visit on the last day to say goodbye... This video includes some commentary about the closing as well as my regular haul and a bunch of back issues and graphic novels (hardcovers and trades) that I bought as part of their closing sale for 50% off. Lastly, I seemed to have messed up the audio a bit. I thought it was boosted throughout the video in all edited clips, but it drops really low a couple times. Sorry about that.
