When I saw these pleated paper blinds on a very popular YouTube channel, 'Girl in the Woods', I purchased them immediately! A 6-pack only costs about $20, and when you're on a budget, that is **gold**. Rather than spend money on expensive window treatments and blinds, this is a very economical way to quickly cover the windows on the homestead. Have you tried these yet?! Take care, see you in the next one...

It's amazing how many times a person can upgrade the same system on the homestead over and over again, and that costs money. I will be SO glad when I am done with all the temporary rustic systems, as they are time consuming and don't allow for the tasks that I *should* be tackling (fencing, animals etc). Anyways, just have to keep moving forward one step at a time.
Have a great week! Take care, see you in the next one...
Recently, I made the decision to take a hiatus in order to reach greener pastures. Literally. This is probably one of THE toughest decisions I have ever made; the logistics alone have been incredibly daunting as a solo homesteader. However, at one point during my decision-making process I recalled a saying that sounds something like this, 'If it's an easy path, then it's probably the wrong one.' Looking back on my life, that has held true over the years. Out of all the things I have done this will be challenging, with risks as well as thrills, and I expect it to be one heck of a ride! Follow me on this next leg of my life as I strive for that long-awaited acreage I've been dreaming about for over a **decade**!

Things seem to take 3 times longer when you're living between four different tiny structures! Oooof.
I have things dialed in as tight as they can be under the circumstances. Hopefully that will be changing soon though ;) Stay tuned!
Take care and God Bless. See you in the next one...
While I continue to work on the new cabin, I have set up shop in the dry cabin. I have squeezed in everything from my office space to a makeshift bedroom and kitchenette. When I noticed things headed in this direction a few months ago, that's when I grabbed the Christmas decorations and gave them the prime real estate. :) Ha! It's cozy, and I love it.
Take care, God Bless, and have a wonderful Christmas! :evergreen_tree: See you in the next one...
We are all extremely busy these days, no matter the size of the homestead. I have found this quick and easy gluten-free bread mix from Simple Mills (link below) a great starting point for making a weekly breakfast loaf, with *endless possibilities*. I usually add dried apricots and pecans, and it's great toasted. :)
What's your favorite breakfast food? **Comment below**.

This is my third season now using homemade, immunity boosting Fire Water made with natural ingredients. And I have to say that it really works. :) Made with only 3 ingredients, you can have it sitting on your shelf in a cold, dark place in a matter of minutes! I recommend it often to people in my life especially when there is an interest in herbal remedies. Let me know what you think!
Take care, see you in the next one...
Sometimes it's nice to reach for a hard cover book instead of Mr. Google-pants. ;)
I'm one of those people who remember using a card catalog in the school library, and that musty smell as you flipped through the cards. There are just some things that can't be replaced, and a book is one of them.
This reading list is just a sample, but I hope you find it useful, especially if you are just getting started. Fall is approaching and it's the perfect time of year to curl up with a book, a blanket, and your favorite cuppa tea.
Take care, see you in the next one...
