Rumor: Indiana Jones 5 Test Screenings Are Abysmal, Disney In A Panic

TOTAL PANIC AT DISNEY TOTAL DISASTER! Test Screening Scores Are Abysmal, They Don't Know What To Do!
A new rumor claims that Indiana Jones 5 test screenings are abysmal and that Disney is in a panic over their poor ratings.
Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) in the upcoming fifth installment of the “Indiana Jones” franchise ©2022 Lucasfilm Ltd. & TM. All Rights Reserved.
The rumor comes from YouTuber Overlord DVD who claims his Hollywood spies told him, “While we are still digging into this, we feel it’s time to bring you up to speed on KK and Indy 5. Allegedly, but we have enough to believe some of this, Indy 5 is bad.
He continued, “You know this, but we’ve been told that Disney has test screenings of not one ending, but six different endings and not a one can get a good audience score.”

A little bit later in the video, he shared more of the information he received from his spies, “We’ve been told out of the six endings they tested the best one gets a 35% approval from test audiences.”
“We’ve been told that Bridge put the hat on in every ending,” he added.
Overlord DVD then clarified, “All my spies actually said was Phoebe Waller-Bridge puts on Indy’s hat, takes Indy’s whip, and in a brave and stunning display of girl power she becomes the besest Indy evar at the end of all six version of the movie.”

The YouTuber also asserts that Disney is in panic over the poor test screenings saying, “Disney is absolutely freaking out about this. They know this movie is going to bomb big time, which is why they’ve delayed it as long as they have despite it being finished.”
He added, “And according to rumors from my Hollywood spies there is talk that Chapek may decide not to release it and take a tax write off for it or to dump it onto Disney+ and hope that enough train wreck rubberneckers will sign up for the D+ service just to take a look out of morbid curiosity.”

RELATED: Rumor: Phoebe Waller-Bridge To Replace Indiana Jones As Female Archaeology Professor
This latest rumor comes on the back of a rumor from June 2021 where Overlord DVD indicated that Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s character would replace Indiana Jones.
In that video he explained, “Two endings are supposedly being considered in this script. I guess they’ve been written and they are going to shoot both of them. Both endings allegedly have old Indiana Jones dying at the end of this movie.”
“But in one of the end of the rumored endings, young Indiana Jones dies alongside old Indiana Jones and Phoebe Waller-Bridge swoops in like a vulture, picks the hat up, and takes his place moving forward,” he adds.
That rumor appeared to be confirmed by The Daily Mail when their Showbusiness Editor Katie Hind reported in September 2021, “Phoebe Waller-Bridge is being tipped to replace the veteran actor as a female version of the fictional professor of archaeology in the adventure movie franchise.”
One anonymous source told Hind about the rumor, “It would be a huge statement, and a great role for Phoebe.”
Another source stated, “The gossip on the set is that this character will slot into the leading role.”
Solo: A Star Wars Story
Donald Glover is Lando Calrissian and Phoebe Waller-Bridge is L3-37 in SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY.

Lucasfilm announced Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s addition to the film in a press release back in April 2021. It read, “Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, Solo: A Star Wars Story) will star alongside Harrison Ford, who is returning to the role of the legendary hero archaeologist, for the fifth installment of the iconic franchise.”

hollywood-panics-as-woke-movie-flops
Adam Aron, as always, remains unruffled by widespread talk of AMC Theatres‘ financial woes.
At CinemaCon, the annual gathering of exhibitors and Hollywood studios that’s underway in Las Vegas this week, there’s loads of chatter as to the financial health and future of the world’s largest theater circuit, and whether a restructuring is in the offing. According to Aron, who sat down with The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday, the answer is an emphatic “No.”
“Personally, I think it’s inconceivable that AMC would have to restructure like Regal Cinemas did and file for Chapter 11. One of the things I’m very proud of is that going into the pandemic, AMC was in very strong position. We are the biggest and best movie theater chain in the world. Somehow all of us on this planet got handed COVID as something to deal with. And the movie theater industry has been hit quite hard by COVID, and it’s been slow to recover. And the labor strikes were a double whammy. We are already at the four-year mark since COVID shut theaters in March of 2020. And the box office is still not yet back to where it was before,” said Aron.
“Having said that, and it’s not just me who thinks it, AMC has been more creative and more successful in trying to cope with COVID than just about any exhibitor in the planet,” he said.
While laden with $4.5 billion in debt, AMC has enough cash on hand to get through 2024, according to Aron. From there, the executive thinks it will be smooth sailing since Aron is predicting a robust 2025 and 2026 at the box office. Once earnings improve, everything else does too. “So, I actually think the problem has already been solved, which makes me quite optimistic and enthusiastic, but we just have to get there,” Aron added.
AMC’s cash balance was $885 million as of Dec. 31, 2023. “That’s money in the bank. It suggests to me that not only have we weathered the storm so far, but to the extent that there’s any storm left, we will weather that as well. There’s almost no scenario that I can foresee where we don’t have enough cash to make it through 2024. But everything that I see tells me 2025 and 2026 are going to be gangbusters,” he continued. “And that means our EBITDA is going to go way up. And so, I’m already looking ahead and am quite relaxed about where our company will be and where our industry will be looking forward, which is a much different circumstance than it was in January and February of ’24, which, of course, was a debacle with revenue down 20 percent year over year.”
Like other circuits, AMC is grappling with a dramatic downturn at the box office so far this year because of delays due to the strikes. (Although some forecasts have gotten slightly better: analytics firm Gower Street projected global theatrical revenues in 2024 will hit $32.3 billion, up from the $31.5 billion originally forecast.) The box office downturn was the second big crisis following the pandemic.
After its latest quarterly earnings results were disclosed on Feb. 28, Wall Street analyst Eric Handler at Roth MKM doled out a glass half-full and half-empty view for AMC. “Improvements have been seen on the top line with average revenue per patron up 31% since 2019,” Handler wrote. “However, profit is significantly lagging; average EBITDA per patron down 18% and cash burn remains considerable. Liquidity isn’t an issue with $884mn in cash on hand, but net leverage remains very high at ~9x.”
Aron has taken several unorthodox steps to help fill the gaps. Late last summer, he took the unprecedented step of distributing Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour after Hollywood studios passed on the terms presented by Swift and her team. The movie, which AMC licensed to other circuits, became the most successful concert film of all time with more than $261 million globally. AMC next distributed Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé, which did far more modest business but was a smart branding opportunity.
Aron told THR he would certainly consider distributing more films, but that they would have to make sense. A big-budget studio tentpole would probably not be the right business for AMC to be in. Special events are another matter, including live concerts and beaming the Paris Olympics this summer into AMC cinemas.

hollywood-panics-as-experts-predict
After a disastrous 2023 at the global box office, Hollywood’s 2024 is already predicted to be even worse.
“Gower Street Analytics has revised its 2024 Global box office projection to $32.3 billion,” reads the press release. This is a little better than the original prediction of $31.5 billion, but still “down about 3% from the $39.9 billion grossed in 2023 based on current exchange rates.”
Here’s the key figure: “It would also be 18% lower than the average of the global box office totals between 2017-19.”
Even with population and ticket price increases over the last five to seven years, the movie business is looking at nearly a 20 percent drop.
And even though the science tells us why the movie business is down nearly 20 percent — hint: the quality of the product — here’s how the sycophant entertainment industry spins it:
A downtick in box office grosses was expected this year due to production delays caused by the Hollywood double strike last year and a lack of major blockbusters on the level of recent hits like “Avatar: The Way of Water,” “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” and “Barbie.” Exhibition sources have told TheWrap that 2025 is seen as a potential rebound year with higher profile tentpoles and a greater quantity of theatrical titles on the slate.
Uhm, Super Mario Bros. and Barbie both came out in 2023, and both domestically and worldwide 2023’s box office was an embarrassment.
As the first quarter of this year already proved, the problem is not a lack of product,
The lackluster [box office] start comes despite audiences having more theater options than they have had in years. This year through Feb. 18, there have been 11 wide-release movies, or those showing in at least 2,000 locations nationwide. There were nine wide-release titles through the same time frame last year.
As far as what’s coming, theaters will have all kinds of product throughout the rest of the year, including around a dozen franchise titles — which I’ve bolded: Bad Boys 4, The Garfield Movie, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, The Fall Guy, A Quiet Place: Day One, Despicable Me 4, Twisters, Deadpool & Wolverine, Alien: Romulus, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Transformer One, Joker: Folie a Deux, Gladiator 2, Moana 2, Karate Kid, Mufasa: The Lion King, Sonic the Hedgehog 3…
Those are some of the biggest movie brands in film history, and the box office will come in nearly 20 percent below the pre-pandemic box office. The quality of the product is definitely not the problem.
The problem is also not a lack of brand titles or a lack of franchises. The problem is that Hollywood’s woke crusade has obliterated its customer base. The problem is that Normal People know movies aren’t very good anymore. The problem is a lack of appealing movie stars. The problems is that what had once been two hours of escapism is now 2.5 hours of lectures, insults, hectoring, and gay sex.
Over the weekend, I watched Bound for Glory (1976) and Wild River (1960). Why would I waste my time driving to a movie theater to be insulted by mediocrity when those classics (and thousands of others) are available in the comfort of my home?
We all have a hundred years of popular culture available to us, so why suffer through any of this new crap? The best part is that those hundred years have already been vetted by history. We know what the best movies and TV shows are. We don’t have to wade through a pile of manure to find a pony.
Hollywood hates Normal People and wants to queer our kids. There is nothing wrong with hating Hollywood right back.
