Part of a series of talks from the book of Revelation.
Discussion questions:
1) What other teaching have you had about the book of Revelation? Have you seen the kind of websites / DVDs I referred to? When reading that kind of thing, how does it make you feel?
2) What is the focus of the book of Revelation? (1:1) What other things in the book do people tend to put the focus on, and why?
3) There are plenty of things that God does not tell us. He has secrets! Read Romans 11:33, Deuteronomy 29:29; Acts 1:7; 2Corithians 12:4; Why does God hold things back from us? Does it matter?
4) Ezekiel and John ate a scroll. How do you make sure you are spiritually well-fed?
5) Spend some time in prayer thinking through the sweetness and bitterness of God's judgement in relation to people and situations you know.

Early summer 2020 saw a series of anti-racism demonstrations in the UK, sparked initially by the murder of a black man, George Floyd, by white police in the USA. This seemed a good opportunity to give voice to some of the black people in our congregation about their experiences of racism in the UK. You may not agree with everything that is said. That's fine. But let's all come with humility and grace and listen to our brothers and sisters. In the words of James the Apostle: "everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry."
