I really liked the synth patch on this one. I used the term “quasi-trap” because it’s not reallly in the true style trappings of trap music, but my drum pattern is somewhat similar to the standard trap pattern. The visual turned out great on this one.

Back with another one! Had to break my "No Looking at the Fretboard" rule in order to get this out on time. I always saw Killing Joke as The Cure's older, cooler brother that rode motorbikes, did illicit substances, and your mum didn't want you to associate with. They also had this little proto-industrial vibe going on that I'm always into. Experimented with by mapping a Superior Drummer Crash Cymbal to my Rimshot Center hit, definitely going to keep using it since I lack a spare arm.

Practicing fluidity with arpeggiating chords. Was listening to some Strawberry Girls and it give me some inspiration. Reminds me of when everyone in the uni Jazz band was digging Chon and related ilk years ago. I dunno why but the shaders being used for the visuals were absolutely wrecking my CPU, apologies for the jaggies.

Feel is another thing that’s been in the shed recently. My right foot has had a bad lilt to it rhythmically for a while now, I think I had an over-reliance on triplet kicks. I’ve decide to build back up my footwork starting from 60 bpm to be more time aware and strong with both feet going forward.

I feel like every Youtube intro had some sort of instrumental like this during the early 2010’s. Truly a disgusting, plastic period of music. 2010’s EDM had this weird, mallcore saccharine-ness to it. Can’t explain it any better, but I went the opposite direction favoring IDM and jungle over this stuff.
