Finn Martin's life lastet from 3. October 1961 - 2. September 2011. At the end of his life Finn met with Thomas Schauffert, a composer, producer and musician from Basel, Switzerland. At their very personal and privat meeting in the studio of THS (Thomas Schauffert), Finn Martin handed over his only full album which has never been released before. So finally in 2016 THS, Thomas Schauffert found the right time and heart to release these unbelievable warm and powerful 10 songs of Finn Martin. Finn Martin was a quite unusual artist. His versatility and his commitment to quality and authenticity have made him become a renowned allrounder in the international art and show production scene. As the son of an Irish mother ( who was raised in Kenya, East Africa) and a Swedish father, he was born in Sweden in 1961. After classical music studies in Switzerland and several years of residence and a degree in Stockholm, he moved to the world music capital of Paris, where during 20 years he worked as a studio musician and sideman in many cultural projects. In the mid-eighties, he worked in parallel to his musical activities, also as an actor in several film productions. Among his musical references you can find African Stars like Salif Keita, Manu Dibango, Mory Kante, Angelique Kidjo, Idrissa Diop, Ray Lema or Lokua Kanza, Balkan Greats like The Bulgarian Voices of Prof. Stefanov, Bogdan Rankovic, Arabic Star Cheb Mamy, The Orchestra National de Barbes or Rachid Bahri, Blues Diva Marla Glen, Brasilian Artists Rosanna & Zelia, Cuban Great Ruben Gonzales or “Electro Pope” Laurent Garnier and many others with whom he participated in international music festivals all over the World. His intense traveling was always characterized by rich cultural encounters and his goal was always cross-border communication. Various encounters with representatives of other art forms and cultures such as acrobatics, dance, literature, theater, painting and multi media have inspired him to fuse these different forms of expression in some of his productions with one another. Some may recall the original and award-winning show Carpe Diem. His cross culture productions Sonido ( world music / modern circus ) or Soulfoot ( world music / dance ) have been performed successfully in major theaters throughout Germany.
