The AI Storyteller
I've always thought the best part of games like Dwarf Fortress and The Sims was the stories that come out of them. That's why RimWorld is designed as a story generator. It's not about winning and losing - it's about the drama, tragedy, and comedy that goes on in your colony.
To keep things interesting, the game creates events like pirate raids, trader arrivals, and storms. But these events aren't random. RimWorld uses an AI Storyteller (modeled after the AI Director from Left 4 Dead) who analyzes your situation and decides which event she thinks will make the best story. There are several storytellers to choose from:
• Cassandra Classic aims to create a rising curve of tension over the course of the game. Early on, the most dangerous thing she'll do is send a psychotic squirrel after you. Later on, bands of scavengers will arrive. In the late game, look forward to combined-arms attacks from mercenaries mixed with lightning storms and crop blights. If you want a traditional tension and difficulty curve, go with Cassandra.
• Phoebe Friendly is for the player who just wants to build and watch a colony grow. She'll occasionally create minor disasters, but nothing that would threaten the existence of the colony. If you want a more relaxing game about growth and success, choose Phoebe.
• Randy Random follows no rules. He may give you some amazing stroke of luck, like a trader selling an advanced weapon for a low price or a group of helpful immigrants, followed by a near-unbeatable pirate attack combined with an electrical fire. If you think losing is fun, you might want to try Randy.
And we're considering other AI Storytellers, too. High population storytellers, starvation storytellers, seasonal storytellers, moody storytellers, and anything the community thinks up are all on the table.

ABOUT THIS GAME
Domina is an arena battler and political wrangling simulator. Players must buy/train/fight gladiators and manage political relationships to maximize opportunity (and thus victories) in the arena. Each gladiator can be trained for specific weapons and styles of combat while the player maintains an eye on resource allocation, training, upgrades, political tides, and maintaining a balance between short term and long term goals. ABOUT THIS GAME
Hellion is a first person multiplayer space survival game.
It is a fusion of survival and space simulation genres that pits players against the deadly environment and one another. Survive in the harsh conditions of space and scavenge for air, fuel and other items necessary for survival. But keep in mind, you are not the only one out there. There are others, but will they help, or will they throw you to the void without a second thought? Remember, no matter how brutal space may seem, it cannot hold a candle to man.
Hellion is a solar system several thousand lightyears from Earth. Despite its distance, it is the target of the first interstellar colonization mission during the 23rd century. Almost a million colonists, suspended in cryogenic hibernation, leave Sol on a journey that would take many decades.
However, when they wake up, almost a century later, they find themselves trapped inside a nightmare. Instead of living in a manmade paradise, they are forced to fight for survival surrounded by deserted stations, incomplete orbital habitats and derelict warships.
With the closest rescue operation decades away, orbital economy in disarray and no authorities in sight, many turn to scavenging, stealing and outright violence. Few others try to live more civilized and begin uncovering the truth behind the largest disaster in human history.
Hellion is an ambitious project. It is an immersive world set in a solar system many lightyears from the comforts of Earth and is entirely based on the laws of Newtonian physics.
Hellion will make its debut as an Early Access game. EA version represents the basics of the vision behind this dark world. As our community grows and the player base expands, the game will evolve beyond these confines and become a true space survival that we can all enjoy. Open and honest communication between developers and community is the cornerstone of this idea. Timber and Stone v.171 Gameplay - Episode 2 - Amidst the planning of out future kingdom, we have a couple of visitors to help with building placement.. No, wait.. they are actually here to eat our people.. Can be difficult to gauge intention sometimes. We do, however, finish our virtual roads and get a couple more buildings started.
Join me as we take a closer look at this sorely underrated title from "Games by Robert LLC" It maybe, perhaps, that "Robert" is missing right now, but that doesnt change the fact that TaS is GREAT! Full of detail and it's quite colorful and generally plays "pretty well".

The Developers Vision of Timber and Stone:
Timber and Stone is a project I started in March of 2012. I wanted to play a city building game with the feel of a real time strategy game, but with more depth; more resources, more control, and most importantly: more complexity. All set in a medieval world with some fantasy elements thrown in.
I wanted to see trebuchets destroy castle walls, trees, and earth. Fire used as a realistic weapon. A game where I not only get to build an army but also have to feed that army, by farming, fishing, hunting, and foraging. With an intuitive crafting system that allows me to engineer siege equipment by felling trees for wood, create brick to fortify my kingdom’s walls using the raw stone I’ve mined, and blacksmiths who forge armor and weapons for my military.
Such a game didn’t exist in a form I wanted to play. So I decided to create it. Inspiration comes from games like Caesar, Zeus, Age of Empires, Dwarf Fortress and Minecraft.
The game’s graphics are built with procedural cube meshes (sometimes called Voxels), which make the gameworld quick and cheap to render, and gives the game a look that reminds me of the old pixelated computer and console games that I grew up playing.
Timber and Stone is essentially a sandbox game, where the player is allowed to create any style of settlement, village, or kingdom he wishes. My goal is to provide a city building game that rivals roguelikes in terms of difficulty and randomization. You start the game with a procedurally generated terrain and are given a small group of workers and resources. To survive, you’ll have to collect food and building materials. The more wealth you amass, the more likely you’ll be besieged by marauding goblin hordes or by necromancers controlling undead armies. Alter the land with large quarries or deforestation and you risk awakening the spiders and wurms that live deep underground. Or perhaps that’s your intent, to collect their scales and silk to craft powerful armor and bows?
From the beginning I wanted siege and castle defense to be a large part of the game. Produce food, gather resources and riches, build farms and villages, even decorate the workers’ houses; but remember that it must all be protected. Siege towers, ladders, catapults, trebuchets, ballistas, drawbridges, and moats will all be available to both the player and the enemies. The benefit of a voxel based world is that all of these weapons can damage the terrain. Trebuchet fire will carve holes into the earth. Catapults will be loaded with boulders, tree stumps, and dead bodies. Fire arrows will scorch farms and burn wood buildings to the ground. Recent battles will be evident by the devastated terrain.
The game is something I’ve become very passionate about, and currently takes up most of my free time. I’m very excited about how far it’s come in the last few months. And simply put, I would love to work on the game full-time so I can have people play it as soon as possible.

What is KeeperRL?
KeeperRL is an ambitious dungeon simulator with roguelike and RPG elements. Take the role of an evil wizard and seek the ultimate knowledge of destruction. Explore the world, murder innocent villagers and burn their homes. Build your dungeon, lay traps and prepare for an assault of angry heroes.
When you control your minions the game becomes a classic roguelike, with turn-based and very tactical combat. You can also play as an adventurer and assault dungeons made by you or other players.
Roguelike mechanics
The world is simulated on a very detailed level. Creatures use equipment and consumable items. There are dozens of special items, spells, attributes and special attacks. You can cut off heads and limbs and blind or poison your enemies. If you're not careful with fire, you can burn an entire forest or even your own dungeon.
Large, procedurally generated map
There are castles, villages, other dungeons and special locations in your neighborhood, and you are free to explore them all. Every game you play will be different.
Technology tree
Getting more and more powerful, you will want to pursue new technologies to aid in your malicious plans. Research necromancy, alchemy, sorcery and dozens of other techs.
Exchange maps with other players
Retire your dungeon and let other players play on the same map, witnessing the destruction you've done and fighting with the forces that you've left behind.
License
The full source code of the game is released under the GPL license. The graphics and music, however, are only available as a commercial release. There is a free ASCII-only version available.

What is Orcish Inn?
Farming
A typical orc's day starts with checking the farm. How well do the plants, how the animals? For raising high quality crops, you have to keep an eye on the ground's wetness and eutrophy as well as on the windbreak and the overall plant density. Some plants require wet land, others don't want to be surrounded by other crops.
Crafting
Harvested crops are then used to bake bread or to brew beer. The beer production and its foregoing malt and wort production let you decide how the beer tastes, how strong it is and more.
Building
Creating your inn is an architect's job, because you aren't fobbed with pre-built houses. Instead, you create your very own inn tile by tile, wall by wall. A bunch of decoration awaits you, because every room has its own comfort level and you better satisfy the coming orcs!
Serving
At dusk, these visitors arrive and stay for a beer. Or two. That's your chance to get some profit out of your efforts and to reinvest it in new seeds. The hawker is a flying vendor who sells and buys stuff (and he's a bit crazy, so be prepared!).
Amusement
Beyond your hard farm and tavern work, mini games and other kind of amusement are lined up, including all sort of quests and your hunt for fishes in the orcish swamps. But don't forget to stay satiated and warm. If weather and seasons bring you and your business to their knees, the nature has (mostly) everything you need—you just have to search and explore!
Orcish Inn is planned for 2015 (Windows) and with a successful Greenlight campaign, for Steam. Mac and Linux is something I will check after release. I also plan to release some modding tools, at least a map and quest editor. Supported languages: English and German (definitely) and Spanish (likely). I will check out the Steam Workshop program and try to integrate as many Steam features I can (achievements, as an example).

StoneHearth Gameplay (Alpha 17) - Episode 3 - Every move we make at this point is critical. Ensuring adequate defense, growth and future planning. I think, we are probably good defensively, at least for the time being. So we can begin to focus on the guard post and the first steps up into the mountain after that.
Welcome to a brand new StoneHearth alpha series and a whole new empire! This time around we will be exploring hard mode and, if we are able to do so, train up an engineer to build us some Turrets and Traps!

What is StoneHearth?
Stonehearth is a game about exploration and survival in an epic fantasy setting. Your job is to help a small group of settlers survive and carve out a place for themselves in a hostile land. You’ll need to establish a food supply, build shelter, defend your people, and find a way to grow and expand, facing challenges at every step.
Starting from procedurally generated terrain with dynamic AI encounters, Stonehearth combines city sim and good old combat with infinite building possibilities. It’s designed to be moddable at every level, from your city to the people and creatures inhabiting the world, and will ship with the tools and documentation for you to add your own customizations to the game, and share them with friends.
Build and Grow Your City
The heart of the game is city building and management. When you're just starting out, you'll need to juggle tasks like obtaining a sustainable food supply, building shelter, and defending your fledgling settlement from raiders and other threats.
Once you've achieved a foothold in the world, it's up to you to write the destiny for your people. You have the flexibility to choose your own path in this game. Do you want to build a great conquering empire? A vibrant trade city? A spiritual monastery? We really want you to feel like this is your settlement, and give you the tools that make it look and operate exactly as you wish.
Level Up Your Settlers
All the settlers in your towns have jobs. A job is like a class in a role playing game. Each job has a specific role like hauling materials, building, crafting, and fighting. As your hearthlings work at a job they will gain experience and levels. Some jobs, when they meet certain prerequisites, can upgrade to entirely new jobs with new capabilities.
Usually, to assign someone a new job you'll also need to craft a tool for them. The Mason can craft blocks, statues, and tools from stone, but to do it he'll need a mallet and chisel crafted by the carpenter. Our goal is to have a job tree that's both very wide and very deep, so there will be plenty of different kinds of things to do in the game, but also a lot of depth to explore if you want to concentrate on any one area.
Epic Boss Fights!
As your town becomes more wealthy and prosperous, you risk attracting the attention of one of the world's Titans, epic boss monsters looking to protect their turf, or just to plunder your riches. Each boss will have a unique lore and set of abilities used to lay waste to your city. (The Titans are hanging back during Early Access... but they're coming.)
Player Driven Legacy Through Modding
We LOVE mods and want to make it as easy as possible to author and share mods.
Want to see a new kind of sword in the game? You can model it, define its stats, and then craft it in game. You can also share the design with other players so they can enjoy it too, or bring their authored content into your game.
As a modder you’ll be able to do basically anything that we as developers can do: introduce new items and monsters, write new scripted adventures, influence the AI, you name it. It goes back to that original pen and paper RPG experience, where “the game” is a collaboration between the core ruleset and the stories crafted by the gamemaster.
