"SONY" Wireless Dual Shock 2 - PS2 - AMBIENT UNBOXING

Disclaimer, I bought this "Official" Sony Wireless PS2 Controller on eBay. Given it is labeled Sony (quite well if I might add) I took a chance on it. For those of you that don't know, the PS2 wasn't officially released in Brazil (and I believe any part of South America) until 2009 at a whopping $450 retail.

This controller came from South America (I think Venezuela), so I gave it a shot, thinking maybe Sony gave them updated wireless controllers given the late release of the PS2 in South America.

Unfortunately I do not believe this is the case, although the controller is great build quality and functions as well or better than the standard Dual Shock 2, this product has none of the Sony labels I would expect to be on the back of it. The wireless receiver, while also being of great build quality and functioning as expected, also does not appear to be an official Sony product, as it is also lacking any Sony product labeling.

All in all, it was a valiant copy effort by whoever created this controller, but I do not believe it is an actual Sony product.
