You can count on me, Brune Mars. Cover by Golden Salamanders Band busking in Sydney.
Golden Salamanders band was born last year. As one guitar and percussions duo. It took some time to get where we are now - with two guitars and two vocals... and with all these complicated gears... we are learning every day... this is our first busking gig with new gears and two guitars!... we got sudden wind, my sore throat and complete failure with sound settings... but we still love this experience!... and we still had audience!... here we are!...

Do you believe mature woman can overland Africa solo? Yes, Dot Bekker can.
She made it.
Tomorrow, 12 October, Tuesday, I will be interviewing outstanding person - genuine inspiration, who will change your day, and, maybe, your life. It will be at 5 pm Sydney time and 8 am Zimbabwe time.
Dot Bekker decided that it meant returning to the land of her birth after a 38 year absence and driving 20,000kms on her own from Europe, through 18 West African countries to return to Zimbabwe. Crossing the Equator in Gabon
Many didn't believe that at 60 she would be able to achieve this feat in a 20 year old Ford Transit that wasn't even a 4x4, just an ordinary 2WD, as she likes to say "ordinary African people drive through Africa every day in ordinary vehicles so I knew it had to be possible".
She shares some of her experiences and insights in her blog, on social media (Facebook/Instagram @goinghometoafrica) and in her book by the same name - Going Home to Africa.
https://www.goinghometoafrica.com/
On her return to Zimbabwe in August 2019 she looked to the future of her country raising funds for the education of Girls, find out more about how you can support this initiative and why she chose this out of all the great causes that are in need.
She continues to adventure through Zimbabwe and Southern Africa with her eyes set on driving through East Africa to continue her discoveries.
