Tested three different grips while rapidly shooting 6 rounds off my Open gun. Weak hand grip (barely holding on to the gun), 70/30 (70 left strength, 30 right), and 100/100 (hard crushing grip both hands).
Look at the results yourself in slow-mo. I wished I had a target to show where the rounds hit, but I'm pretty sure both 70/30 and 100/100 were A zone hits and the weak hand probably only 1 would have hit the paper :) ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcQqBUEJ3So
Although I came in 5th overall, I am the last of the three Grandmasters. That feels just like being last place in the entire match. That said, Kudos to Ryan and Nick who both have put in so much more work getting where they are, so they deserve to win.
I just need more practice, if I can get any.
Thanks for a fantastic 40 round extravaganza guys! Props to the Custer crew, Matt, Chris, Dan, Floyd, Chaun, Rick, Cyco, Andi, Jim, Jason, Bruce and so many others who made this happen.

Fun shoot at Custer coz I needed some practice. The highlight was the Area One fixed time stage (last stage in the video) which was fun. I tried to shoot all the targets but in order to do that , I had to push really hard and it wasn't the best plan. The ideal was the shoot everything except for the tux and ensure you get your alphas. But if you want a video for the grams, then go for it!

The Inland Empire sectional match is one of those matches that I will always go and shoot at. They have really technical and challenging stages.
I mentally told myself to shoot my own game but what resulted was a massive failure in mental focus. The mental exercise trying to not let go of points. This made me really slow and too careful. Next time I'm just gonna chill and give no f*cks.

Day 3 was slightly better. Had some stupid mikes again and they were really stupid ones. I know what my problem is, 1) Gun shoots high at 25yrds (n00b) and don't rush off your shots on wide open static targets. I get too excited and throw a shot off an easy target. Done that 4-5 times this match.
Came in 58th overall. My best stage was a 10th place on Ultimatum and I was stoked as I beat a lot of top level shooters on it.
Had a ton of fun at the Nationals, it was a really rewarding experience seeing what national level stages and shooters are like, meeting great people, YouTube fans and meeting shooting idols.

I went into this match to have fun. After many depressing major match performances, I told myself to f*ck all of that and just have fun. and I did. It worked, I was more relaxed and I shot way better. This was my first clean major match, well except for a foot fault.
What did I learn from this match? I shoot better relaxed.
