VERY IMPORTANT NEWS ABOUT CAREGIVERS THAT TRAVELED ABROAD WITH RE-ENTRY VISA BEFORE 18/3/2020 AND HAVE EMPLOYERS Hello all and good night, the ministry of interior (misrad hapnim) has issued a statement that 400 caregivers that left Israel with re-entry visa before 18/3/2020 will be allowed to return to their employers under specific restrictions to Israel. From what we understand from the statement – this is only for caregivers that HAVE employers. We will keep you posted about other cases, such as when the employment finished (passing of employers, termination etc), or on other leaves (maternity leave or a break in between jobs). We don’t have further information about this cases at this time. We are giving this information very soon after the statement was issued – and we will have more to say about some details in it in the next few days. These are the demands of Ministry of Interior: 1. The caregiver must stay in quarantine for 14 days (NOT in the employer’s home – one place the entire time), from the time they land in Israel. 2. The employer is responsible for the caregiver’s quarantine, including the caregiver’s basic needs – food etc, and also for your medical insurance. 3. The employer must make sure that the caregiver arrives directly to the place of quarantine from the airport. 4. The caregiver will have to sign a declaration BEFORE ARRIVING TO ISRAEL, that he/she is willing to stay 14 days in quarantine (without salary) – the employer is responsible for this also. 5. When the caregivers enters to Israel – the employer must report immediately to the ministry of health regarding his arrival to place of quarantine. 6. If the caregivers develops symptoms or gets sick during the quarantine, the ministry of health will act according to the case. there is a chance that the caregiver will have to stay in quarantine more than 14 days, if they will get sick. 7. THE PLACEMENT AGENCY (not “bituach”) is responsible applying for the entry visa, after all the requirements are met. 8. After the application is approved - the caregiver will get the entry visa in the Israeli consulate / embassy near them.
