Occupied Robert E Lee Circle in Richmond Virginia
Richmond, VA June 19 - 21st 2020: Protesters continue to occupy the Robert E. Lee Statue in Richmond, Virginia as they demand the removal of the giant Confederate General from the monument.
There was little to no police presence at the site, we only witnessed armed officers as they stormed a nearby building to remove an off-duty Airport Police Officer who was armed on the roof and menacing the people below. That individual was taken into custody and later reportedly released.
The protesters have armed security patrolling in case of agitators, and the system for removing bad actors from the crowd is to surround them and guide them away, we witnessed this occur once and the crowd is overwhelmingly non-violent when it takes place, urging and demanding peace and quelling any notion of the opposite.
During the day multiple counter protesters , some in MAGA hats and shirts, some flying the American flag, approached the circle, entered it, or rode around it, sometimes taunting those occupying the circle. Many were ignored, some confronted, but all were outnumbered. At one point, a bicyclist with a MAGA shirt confronted armed protesters, but he was not allowed to enter the occupied zone.
Some protesters claimed they were assaulted with paintball by a passing vehicle, but we did not witness that. After a small planned counter-protest fizzled out quickly, the party resumed and the protesters continued to support their cause.
At night, they projected pictures and videos onto the Monument, playing videos such as Martin Luther King, Jr's "How long, Not long" speech and an interview with Angela Davis about violence and revolution.
"We asked the city to put up a barrier so we won't have any vehicle issues", said Anthony Fisher / Ace Santoora. "We illustrate all our emotions on all the platforms" , "just a creative illustration of expression. What you see is everybody in unison coming together to fight for one cause" he continued.
On the second day a new sign was placed in the occupied area reading, "Welcome to beautiful Marcus-David Peters Circle" indicating that the name has been changed.

September 14 2020, Manhattan, New York - a group called Shut It Down has Marched through Manhattan tonight for Daniel Prude. The original meeting place, Grand Central Terminal, was shut down prior to their arrival. They marched through Penn Station, and later placing barricades against the exist chanting "We keep us safe" .
A few people were seen knocking over American flag in what appeared to be a "Never Forget" memorial, one person was about to kick the flag but stopped when they realized it is part of the memorial.
Some people confronted police for not wearing masks, called out their published complaints and asked them "What do you even do?"
Two civilians were confronted and told to leave, one of which was heard saying "get a job" prior to the argument .
"We keep saying No Justice No Peace and they keep killing us" said one of the protesters.

September 25 2020 - BROOKLYN, New York: Group of several hundred gathered at Barclay's Center and marched to shut down Brooklyn Bridge.
Once the group got to the middle of Brooklyn Bridge, they read their demands and announced that they are staying sitted "get comfy" speaker said "because we are staying".
Protesters occupied the bridge for about 90 minutes before seeing police lights and running down the bridge towards Manhattan. After a few moments an organizer said that they have 2 minutes to get off the bridge. The group linked arms and marched quickly back towards Brooklyn where they gathered at Borough Hall and dispersed.

New York Attorney General Letitia James released the following statement about the independent investigators' cooperation with the New York State Assembly’s investigation into sexual harassment claims made against New York Governor Andrew Cuomo:
“At the Assembly’s request, we have provided the Assembly Judiciary Committee with the report that was released today, and we will provide them with all relevant evidence. We will cooperate with their investigation as needed.”

August 16 2021 - QUEENS, New York:
Hundreds of corrections officers gathered at the Rikers Island sign to demand an end to triple shifts, sexual assaults on COs, and for better treatment by the executives and government.
There were unconfirmed reports of corrections officers walking off of their jobs at Rikers Island and Centre Street.
A representative for Eric Adams began speaking to the crowd and said Adams is out of the country, the crowd booed and chanted "he's not here."
Candidate Curtis Sliwa then addressed the crowd to a big applause and cheer and said he won't be in the Hamptons or out of the country but he'll stand with the Corrections Officers.
The crowd was retired and off-duty COs and representatives of the union COBA.
A small counter protest gathered across the street with a sign that read, "Rikers Island is a Death Sentence."
At one point, a counter-protester came into the crowd with a small child strapped to her chest. She shouted "close the jails" and "free them all" while people around her shouted and chanted "you've got to go." NYPD eventually were able to force the woman to leave the crowd.
