Here's my participation to the new Ponies at Dawn album, Eternal. This song is called Tsuki no Hangyaku (Lunar Rebellion) and it's sang in Japanese (because why not? :p) This track is also part of my big project currently named "IE", which is going to be a series of songs, narration and stories. Considering the show will end soon, I thought about telling my own fictional story, some sort of musical MLP fanfic I guess. Speaking of this project, there are two songs (already released) which are part of the IE project: Sun of the Night & Night Queen. "Lunar Rebellion" is, chronologically speaking, between those two. Here's a quick "synopsis" (if we can call this like that): So, this is about two sisters, Celestia and Luna, who're both princesses who rules their country together. Both of her are Alicorns, powerful creatures who hold a darkness deep inside them. One day, due to a reason unknow to Luna, her sister let her darkness "eat" her and became Daybreaker, the Solar Empress, who want eternal day and rules on a land of fire. Soon enough, with the manipulative words of Daybreaker, the country were divided in two sides: those who worshiped the sun goddess and devoted their live to the Solar Empire, and those who didn't want to be controled by this tyran and joined Luna in the Lunar Republic. Luna quickly gathered courageous and skilled fighters and formed the Lunar Rebellion - This is where the story of this song begins... I want to thank Satomi a lot for the incredible lyrics and vocals she made, as well as the amazing topline melody which fits the song very well! She was really nice to work with and I will surely work with her again! :D She doesn't really have any links for me to put here, she just wanted me to credit her. We're already half the way through my brand new EP: Heroes! I hope you will love this compilation of themes around the Pillars of Equestria! :) This time, we're honoring the Pillar of Healing, Mage Meadowbrook. This one was probably the most difficult to compose, in my opinion. I had a lot of trouble finding what to do... but I think I managed it. I imagined it to be something more relaxing, more "savage" in a natural way. A very jungle-ish track, I'd say. To be honest, it's the first time I'm composing something that is "epic" but not in a action/heroic way... but this is how I see Meadowbrook and her theme. Something more "contemplative". I'd like to thank a lot my artist friend Light, who's going to make the artworks of the whole EP - as well as the CD design! Here's the third track of Legion EP, the theme of Cozy Glow. So, I wanted to make Cozy Glow's theme very different than the other four tracks of the EP, because I see her as a completely different kind of villain compared to the others. While Chrysalis, Tirek and Grogar seem to have lot of power and magic, Cozy is a real demon who does not need to get her hooves dirty. I'd say she's certainly the most creepy villain and I wanted to deliver a very horrific feel out of the track. I also wouldn't have succeeded without the help of my co-composer, Elias Frost. He made amazing yet frightening sound-effects, as well as some very good orchestration to describe the ambiance and evilness of Cozy Glow. Sooooooooooooooooooo... I went crazy today. This track wasn't expected, like, at all. I was sitting on my chair, looking on some meme on 9gag. Then, I switched to DeviantArt BUT I didn't plan to make anything, today was a rest day. And then... BAAAAM, my mind was hit by something like a goddamn asteroid and I was like "ooooooh dear, I got something. Ooooh, gonna do some random shit, I can feel it, this is it". Then I found this artwork and I was like : "Well, I'll record my vocals for W******* o* G*********** later, gonna compose like a crazy man". Finally, I started to create music and I was like a mad man creating something. Then BAM, a little more than two hours later (without even being aware of that work-time, honest), I got a new track. And here you go, that's how I composed this track, more or less. No, I didn't drink anything, by the way.
