#Ravens #Witchcraft #Druidry Excuse the windy background it was a blitzy day. This is the first time I have shared a recording of this family of 3 Ravens who has accepted me as one of theyre own for 3 months now. Everyday between 3 and 4pm I take a break from my office with a bucket of fresh water to top up a pond I made for them under a Sidhe tree there and acontainer of freshly boiled pasta from my lunch portion (They love plain boiled spiral pasta and its what they are gobling up here) Sometimes if its too hot though I dont go down there until 6pmish, its just too hot for them to stand out in the sun on stinker days. This isnt the best recording because I wanted to look at them not through the small camera view finder and I cut the recording short so I could call them back to me so we could sit and chill whilst I took a 30 minute break reading my book and chatting to them. The baby is Loki and his eyes are just str=atrting to change now albeit he still has some baby feathers, and he may very well be a she due to the width of the legs/which makes the Female Australian Ravens waddle :) The Raven baby's are often mistaken for crows but if you observe them they dont flap in flight/they glide and they have Raven/not Crow calls which are distinctively differt. They remeber your face and voice and sometimes when I rock up they arnt there so I call out a few times and come gliding over :) The father is Bright eyes and mum is called Mama Bear :) They enjoy being read to and like it when I sing for them ... Mabon or Harvest Home in ethnic European folklore and tradition, which is the tide of the Autumnal equinox, marking the second harvest of the year before the third and final before winters/New years eve or ‘Samhuinn’. The festive or seasonal tide goes by other names across the ethnic European scope including the Feast of the Ingathering, Mean Fomhair, An Clabhsur, or Alban Elfed (in Neo-Druid traditions). The seasonal tide which marks mid Autumn (Not the beginning of) is traditional a time for the feast of the apples for they are aplenty then and apples are also symbolic of eternal youth/life (Idun) In Wicca, the name Mabon was coined for this tradition of midautumn or harvest home by Aidan Kelly around 1970, as a reference to Mabon ap Modron, a character from Welsh mythology. That said the name Mabon is derived from the Common Brittonic and Gaulish deity name Maponos "Great Son", from the Proto-Celtic root *makwo- "son", dating back to the Bronze, similarly, Modron is derived from the name of the Brittonic and Gaulish deity Matrona, meaning "Great Mother", from Proto-Celtic *matir "mother". There’s also conjecture that the tradition of Madron and Mabon (Mother and Son) was actually what was appropriated by the Abrahamic religions of mother and son in the monotheistic cults respectively, as example; the holy mother Mary and baby Jesus.
