Episode 19: UI Design Resources for Sketch App
This week’s pick: Sketch App Sources. A UI design pattern community-run by the product (UX/UI) designers like you. You can find sets of Dribbble, Behance UI design submissions that were done as conceptual UI design work, mockups of mobile GUIs, devices, icon sets and much more. In fact, you can find over 4k of different UI assets in a Sketch app compatible format. The best bit is that it's totally free.
Note: we're not affiliated with the tool makers. It's just a great UX tool you should know about.
In this new weekly UX design, user research and product design tools series I'll share some of the best picks I've encountered to date. You'll find out about the best apps, extensions, websites and other helpful tools.

Episode 7: Developer Handovers with Zeplin
If you're a Sketch user and have been following along this design system tutorial series you probably have already noticed the gradual transition from the smallest atoms to pages that need to be somehow implemented. Too often expectations and design details get lost in the weeds because of the lack of a common environment to retain all the UI patterns. In this video on design systems, I'll share some of the easiest ways to perform design asset handovers to your front-end developers - Zeplin.
A design system is a collection of reusable product design components, that are guided by clear standards. Design system patterns are usually tested with end-users, thus can be easily assembled into new features. If properly set up, experimented, tested and maintained a well-defined system is one of the best designer’s friends. Furthermore, a living design system is one of the most important step-ups for mature designops and UX design organisations. This mini-series will cover exactly that: how to make a simple design system from scratch using Sketch and Atomic design principles.

As a UX designer who employs design sprints, design thinking and deep UX research and design methods, it's mind-boggling why the industry is becoming so fragmented. Perhaps it's because of the sudden rise of varied methodologies and toolkits to experience design, but a lot of UX folk (especially junior designers) have been confused about what's the difference and what's the right thing to do. While all of these methods result in the user experience, the questionable bit is how good that experience will be. In this video, I'll quickly unpack the key aspects between the methods and why you as a UX designer or UX researcher need to know about it.

Time for another Livestream - In this seventh challenge video, I'll review 7! strong case study submissions from the viewers.
It's time for another UX design, user research, UI and prototyping challenge. The key aim in this challenge for every designer who is currently struggling to come up with a good challenge and produce a case study for their portfolios. This brief should spark some great ideas to explore, discover, ideate, and define a better experience for cancelling a simple service. In this particular brief, I'll share the starter journey I took to cancel my Vodafone mobile broadband subscription. And boy was it difficult. I had to go through multiple chatbots and support colleague conversations, and no simple way to cancel it with a click of a button. One thing worth mentioning is that this challenge will push you to overcome so-called "dark patterns" or as I like to label them as manipulative, exploitative, and outright criminal UX patterns.
