The two-spotted spider mite is an inevitable problem in my late summer garden - as soon as the weather turns hot and dry. The damage and threat to plants is much more pronounced indoors. Outdoors, beneficial insects bring them under control relatively quickly in my garden. Of all types of roses, the Chinas are most dominant in the genetics of the modern roses. Their influence can be seen in flower form, an expanded range of colors, consistent rebloom and overall shrub form and habit.
