Quest for heat insulating material. pt 1
Turns out, I have to do much more reading and educating myself in this area. Who would have thought...
But for I present you gypsum based thermal insulation. It's weak, doesn't hold up to high temperatures
But performs quite well - 10mm layer dropped about 200°C to wood then to air pocket and than to ambient. Though longer run may crush my dreams a bit more. Had I some ventilation, I would definitely found out.
Anyway, even failed experiment is data point...
I would like to test 15mm layer gypsum, to get more baseline readings
Than glass fiber bag filled with TiO2 or other powders would be nice.
And finally I would have to get me some glass and rock wool to see how they perform.
I could try also charcoal, or maybe even charred bread, could do collab with Cody huh? lel
If you got any idea what should I try, let me know - limit is 15mm thickness

tl;dw: I was not able to find any research/experiments on this topic, so here is a little test.
it seems that it is possible to make quite solid peaces using up to 1/5 tin content by weight without applying a lot of pressure during solidifying. You definitely have to use flux for this and quite a lot(I was successful with about 1/7 of the mixture weight).
Result is definitely quite soft and brittle.
I was fusing brass, but I wasn't able(didn't try too much tho) to get brass color out of it.
I can imagine to use this process in making async motor rotor cage. Or some artsy stuff, as this can be molded in hi-temp silicone.
I would definitely suggest to use non-smoking flux, if such a thing exists..

A quick and dirty demonstration of DIY motor.
This motor should be synchronous driven by square wave H bridge mosfet driver.
driver is using hall effect sensor for feedback.
theoreticaly two similar motors like this could be locked in speed and phase
depending on used materials this motor can be really cheap.
Unfortunately it requires driving circuit, and DC voltage, so it cannot be run directly from mains voltage.
However driver is quite simple and in principle working at mains voltages is possible.

It was probably one of hottest day in history of this time in year, about 12 degC on dec 31, near Pardubice. This is quite normal here actually but crows usually don't fly far outside of city. So imagine them like 10x more concentrated in the city. Sometimes they can make sky almost completely black. (well patch of sky anyways).
I wonder what species will be invading next...

This process is inspired by BHO method
However in contrast we got resin material carried by ethanol.
Ethanol bottle didn't have concentration specified, so it may be reason why this happened.
There may be other methods to separate chlorophyll, But I was unable to find better one.
Maybe by controlling PH we could do this without using super volatile solvents like butane, but I haven't got more of a plant.. to experiment.
