Welcome to Mid-Week-Mini-Mail-Call #52! A generous viewer sent in several Commodore 64 motherboard that are in need of repair. Let's take the first step at doing a quick diagnosis on all of them.

Just got my gray Nexus 6P case from Diztronic. As is typical for this brand, it feels great in hand. Looks great too and I can see zero flaws in the design. No sharp edges on your hand, which is a hallmark of Diztronic. My only issue is there is a small bulge in the sides at the bottom of the case. I tried to show this on the video but I'm sorry it was hard to see, especially due to the crappy OnePlus One's continual focus hunting. The Nexus 6P is so much easier to hold now it has this nice case on it, I really recommend this case, especially for the price. ($10)

In this video, I work on refurbishing the old BBC Master 128. This involved thoroughly cleaning the computer, getting the keyboard fully working (no easy feat) and getting the system booting the BBC Master welcome disk. It was a journey but the payoff feels great.

It can be tough to remove through hole ICs from boards without causing any damage. I'm using a desoldering iron, so if you don't have one, you will need something to remove solder. (Braid, manual pump, etc.) These usually leave some solder behind on double sided boards making it very hard to get chips out without causing damage.
I use a combination of removing as much solder as I can from the bottom and hot air on the top to get the chips out without causing any damage.
