An extemporised talking blues that deliberately eschews the format of such, this work details the last couple of years of a loving father, struck down by a disgusting incurable disease, in the worst country in the 'civilised' world to get such, as he reflects on the injustices and failings the some-parts-corrupt, some-parts negligent and some-parts-bigoted 'system' (as well as his so-called friends and his legal 'advisors') have wrought upon his children, now and along their future, either deliberately, directly or by complicity. So far as I know, this is a narrative work... in which all the words are true. I am, of course, merely the narrator of someone's tale. Of course... The message of this song, if needs be far more directly and succinctly, is a paraphrase of Bob Dylan - "How many deaths will it take before society realises, that too many children have died?" I've been asking that question in song for 4 goddamn decades now. Hello, thank you for viewing this video. This is a work from the latest in the "Lost Lyrics" series, concentrating on BoxFile 5. As ever, I make apologies now, for the poor pronunciation at times, and the disoncerting sight of my face, the disease has spread to it now and my swallow and talking muscles are eroding. Hopefully these works stand up to a repeated viewing/listening in any case, so any gaps first time around become filled via frequency. For those unfamiliar with these videos, the shorthand is, putting my affairs in order recently, four A4 box files were discovered, containing some 400 original handwritten song lyrics, of which over half were unknown, never having been used as live concert material, and predating my having my own home studio and thus recording every song I wrote as soon as it was writtten. Now, yet another box of long-lost lyrics turned up, after 28 years (did I NEVER do any housework!). I am trying to get them recorded, so they are anthologised and, more importantly, out there and freely available.
