It conveys function or status. And believe it or not, these are legitimate translations: «Let us create humankind to be our image.» Or «Let us create humankind as our image.» Check this out!

This notion that if you really have the Holy Spirit, you’re going to manifest a sign. Well, sure, except when the New Testament doesn’t say that. Which there are more instances where it doesn’t happen than you might think. Read through Paul’s conversion. Where’s the sign gift? You just don’t have it. You don’t have this language about “the Spirit of God fell upon him and he spoke in tongues.” This is Paul we’re talking about. So, I don't know why you’re making this a requirement to validate salvation when you can’t even demonstrate it with Paul. Check it out!

This is why I really dislike eschatology: Because there's so much left to the domain of speculation, that you can pick out just about anything, any facet of the End Times subject, because there's a lot that goes under that umbrella, and run with it, and defend a particular idea. And if you're loud enough about it, and you do it often enough, people are going to think you're on to something. And the people who are doing that know that, because it's so complicated, it's so vast, there's so many ins and outs and intricacies of it. "Who in the world is going to spend the time telling me I'm wrong?" Check this out!

If I'm a biblical writer, and I want to write a creation story. And I want to give credit to Yahweh as the creator, both from my audience and also as sort of a smackdown to our theological and religious competitors. How can I possibly do that without "borrowing"? Think about that. How would you do? There's no way you can do it without dipping into the material, it would be like me assigning you, let's say, you know, you're all in the same church. And I said; «I want you all to write a paper on why our worship service is better than the church down the street there. But you're not allowed to tell me anything that the other place does.» Like, how am I supposed to do that? I've got to be able to dip into what they do and say, to make the comparison. That's the point. Check it out!
