DIY GROW BOX - New indoor hydroponic grow box using LED lights and DWC - simple hydroponics
Very happy to be showing off the new project I've been talking about - "project BB5" is now officially up and running - took a little extra time to get it finished and ready for use INSIDE the kitchen - but here it is ! It's a very simple two level deep water cutler system. Or "DWC" , adapted from a server cabinet from "IT". It was donated to us - So please do not try to price these out , they're not cheap , this was just a great opportunity to build a new kind of grow box - the fans were also donated , and at one point were very expensive new .
We're also using two LED lights on a timer - the air pumps and fans run 24/7 - we used Mylar blankets for the reflective inside . And rubbermaid tubs as the containers where the plants will live .
As of right now we have strawberries, jalapeño peppers , thyme , cilantro , basil , chives , garlic chives , and a floppy looking mustard leaf plant lol . Eventually we will add some mint when we make more room !

This is a long one guys! But it shows the trouble shooting you may have to go through when setting up the Antminer s9 the way I have with two separate power supply units - essentially.....we're hacking the mainframe, LOL!
Now, this is not the recommended way of powering this highly powerful and specialized mining unit, but it will definitely work the way I have it configured, and yes this IS exactly how I wanted to set it up because i did not want to use a 220 outlet ( nor had the space) and so this is a little hack that isn't as well known, but if done correctly can provide some good hashing power. I intentionally did not want to run this unit at full throttle - especially the way I have it configured. The power demands are large, and if you do not take the right steps you could opening yourself up to the unit's failure, or worse, dangerous electrical issues. otherwise if you wish to take up mining be sure to do your homework and have the power needs to meet the criteria of running a machine like this 24/7
Here's a mining calculator to determine your potential return on investment - it's not that you're just paying for the hardware to get going, you'll be paying way more in electricity so be prepared for that, and hopefully you have really cheap electricity!
