Kerbal Space Program - Let's Do More Science - 2nd Mission, 6000 Science
Following up on my Minmus/Mun mission I perform an interplanetary mission to Gilly, and then for good measure I fly by Eve, Duna, Ike & Moho before returning to Kerbin ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIjqvLcsz8g
After Apollo 11 returned from the Moon they were picked up by the USS Hornet, and that's where Neil Armstrong took his first steps back on Earth. Today this ship is a floating museum in Alameda full of exhibits covering it's various roles in wartime and peace, it's a pretty cool place for fans of history.

Following up with a little more Rimworld. Wuville goes out in a blaze of glory which conveniently aligned with an update of the game to version 0.250 that was incompatible with previous saves. So we start another colony, on another Rimworld and try to learn from my many mistakes.
The kickstarter completed with great success, over 10x the original target. You can still pledge for early alpha access at the games site http://ludeon.com/blog/rimworld/
Audio is messed up in the first section because the drivers mishandled the echo cancellation, the driver has been fired for this stupidity.

For the last few weeks scientists and engineers at NASA have been trying to fix a problem with the Hubble Space Telescope which threatens to end the observatory's operation if it can't be solved. Memory read-write problems are being seen in the payload computer, a Nasa Standard Spacecraft Computer (NSSC-1) built by IBM in the 1980's.
The design is based on a computer first launched on a spacecraft in 1972, and it was replaced in 2009 as part of the final servicing mission, albeit with a near identical piece of hardware still using dozens of discrete integrated circuits to implement the core logic.
This is one of two primary computers on the spacecraft, the other is a space hardened 486 system that replaced the original main computer in 1999.

More space base building, spacebook updated, space beds, space chickens.
Apparently when people get stuck in a decompressing airlock with no space suit the first thing they do is update their Spacebook.

Orbiter is a free spaceflight simulator, it's got much more detail on the actual flying and vehicles than KSP, but lacks the building and real time rigid body physics that provide so much entertainment in KSP. But if you want to experience real spacecraft then it's probably a better choice
Orbiter is developed by Martin Schweiger and can be downloaded for free from http://orbit.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/
The Vostok Plugin I use is by Igel it supports all of the Vostok missions - including the ones with animals as passengers.

Continuing the rocket development, I figure out the rest of the rocket, and then perform a successful munar round trip, unfortunately a malfunction during launch means that we don't want to try landing.

Wind tunnels have been part of aviation research since before the first powered aircraft took to the skies. And there are a huge range of capabilities available to researchers, including the ability to test models are mach numbers close to orbital velocity.
I discovered the thumbnail image on a NASA page showing a Mach 20 helium wind tunnel testing a model of the Space Shuttle Orbiter and thought it was worth explaining how all this comes together to create the image.
