Aaron Hillel Swartz was a programmer, entrepreneur, writer, political activist and Internet hacktivist. He was involved in the development of the RSS web feed format, the Markdown publishing format, the Creative Commons organization, the "web.py" website infrastructure and the social bookmarking website Reddit, which he became a partner in after the latter merged with his company. He received media attention after collecting articles from JSTOR academic journals.
He committed suicide while serving as a U.S. Federal Judge for information theft, a prosecution that the family called "the product of a criminal-judicial system plagued by intimidation and over-prosecution.
The documentary deals not only with his death but also with his legacy and, why not, with those possibly involved in his death.
