VLOG: Can-Am/BRP conference call follow-up
Today's VLOG is a follow-up from the BRP conference call from a month ago. Skip to the bottom for clickable time indexes. Read through the description for a summary of the issues and the answers returned from BRP.

After the initial call on 2/8/2019, I sent a long laundry list of items to BRP for review. The replies were delayed due to time constraints. I'm very impressed and pleased that BRP is open to communicating on a one-to-one basis. So, I wanted to have everything wrapped up before posting this summary video.

Here is a condensed list of the questions that were asked and answered:

Q1: What is the loud mechanical clunk when engaging forward/reverse, and is this "normal"?
A1: The Ryker's clutch system was designed specifically for this application, and the noise is normal and can be observed on all Rykers; this won't affect the life of the powertrain.

Q2: Mechanical clunk from final drive on acceleration/deceleration and over bumps?
A2: This noise is normal, and is common to all Rykers.

Q3: Driveline groan on deceleration?
A3: This is due to the straight-cut gear pattern in the gearbox, combined with compression loads from the drivetrain; this behavior won't affect the gearbox's life.

Q4: Tail-wag during deceleration and/or braking?
A4: [Not sure about this behavior, advised to test ride another Ryker 900 for comparison]

Q5: Alignment issues at all speeds, but particularly noticeable over 35 MPH?
A5: [Paraphrased: Driving behavior of 3-wheel vehicles is very different than 2 or 4 wheel vehicles due to the 3 independent tracks; uneven surfaces can cause different tracking rates and infer a poor alignment condition.]

Q6: Are alignment verifications done at the factory? Does the dealer have the ability/responsibility to verify alignment during the PDI?
A6: [Paraphrased: All Rykers are laser aligned on the production line. It is not part of the PDI to verify or re-align the units. BRP has designed an optional laser alignment tool that is available to BRP dealers; third-party tools like the ROLO system are also approved.]

Q7: Are there any existing process for dealer sales/service to advise customers about updated documentation?
A7: [Paraphrased: Can-Am/BRP prefers to rely upon digital/online documentation because it can be updated more frequently. Dealers do not have any responsibility to advise customers of updated manuals or documentation.]

Q8: Missing toolkit (mentioned in Operator's Manual)?
A8: The only tool provided with the Ryker is a flat-head screwdriver for adjusting the tension on the handlebar clamp.

Q9: Other markets have emergency flashers standard; will there be an option for US models?
A9: [Paraphrased: This is not currently an option, but it may become available if there is enough interest or requests. Certain countries
