Some people who bought my Florida metal detecting DVD have had trouble opening up the old Florida maps and charts as the mrsid graphic viewer program was not working for them. I went to the Lizard Tech site that makes Mrsid and found they have a free download of a program called geoviewer that opens my mas and charts fine.

Does Lysine, a common supplement, help prevent or alleviate symptoms of Covid 19? A clinical report was published in September 2020 that suggests Lysine was helpful to patients who tested positive and were being treated for Covid in a study involving 140 patients, most of which were in the Dominican republic. This is not yet a peer-reviewed study.
One of the interesting things to me is the fact that Lysine has been an effective and safe treatment for treating the virus that causes herpes for years. Since Lysine is an effective and safe treatment for one type of virus, wouldn't it be amazing if it was also a treatment for a completely new and novel type of virus like covid? There are, with some exceptions, very few reported side effects from lysine in most cases when using prescribed amounts. It is quite inexpensive and requires no prescription although you should always consult with your medical provider before taking any medication or supplement.
The link to the pdf of the clinical study is here. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/344210822_Lysine_Therapy_for_SARS-CoV-2

My Canon Pixma printer was giving me an error code after I lost power during a print job and I could not get the printer to work or get past the error code. I was instructed to extend the paper tray but was at first extending the bottom tray. I needed to extend the top tray and it had to come out all the way and lock. I figured if I had a problem there might be others who had the same problem so made a quick video. Hope it helps.
I have a bunch of other printer videos in a playlist.

Many doctors recommend a Mediterranean diet and never mention a Japanese diet.
Japanese live longer. So why is a Mediterranean diet recommended and not the Japanese?.
In this video, we go over several studies indicating the Japanese diet may be more healthy for people than they realize.
However, I think the video raises more questions than answers them. There are some studies indicating that diet and exercise may not be as important as being in touch with our culture and maintaining our way of life that has sustained us for generations.
Having a good diet and exercise regimen is critical but so often we overlook the necessary social life support systems of family and friends and community and sense of place.
Having said all that I am still actively trying to incorporate many Japanese food and practices into my diet along with the Mediterranean ones that I can afford and access.
This was a very interesting topic and I am anxious to hear what you viewers think about diet and exercise and how important the sense of belonging to a society or culture and family is in your long-term health.

My Canon printer would not scan and send the file to my computer.
I verified I had the latest printer driver and my cables were connected.
None of the buttons I pushed on my printer would allow me to send a file to my computer.
After almost giving up I went and connected to my printer through my computer
and activated enabling me to scan and save the file to my computer.
While this did not fix the problem it was a simple temporary solution
that only took me a moment to do. If you have checked your cables are
secure and working and you have the latest driver you may want to
try this method if you're printer is not scanning and sending a file to your computer.
A few very special people have saved the Amazon link I will provide below and use the link to enter Amazon and buy the stuff they normally buy on Amazon. Here is a bushcraft way to recycle or repurpose an old CD to make a DIY loom to help you produce rope from plastic bags. There are people on YT that are making plastic bag yarn and very thin rope, my video shows a different way which makes a thicker rope and a quicker one when using this style of a loom.
I made the video quite short as most people will never do this. For those who do want to make their own rope this way, I have the more detailed instructions below. I will be happy to answer any questions. This was my first time doing this, there may be better ways. I would be happy to hear any suggestions for improvement and want to give thanks to the other youtubers who have taken the time to share their knowledge so we may all benefit.
1, Cut straps or handles of plastic bags.
2. make a cut along both sides of the bag from top to the bottom.
3. open the bag and on both ends tie the cut straps back together so there is a loop at each end
4. Put two pencils in a vise
5. put one end of a bag over one of the pencils
6. on the opposite end use a drill to twist the bag to make a rope strand, but not too tightly.
7.hang the strand on the second pencil by using the ends that have loops-this keeps the strand from untwisting while you continue.
to make and use the loom
1. enlarge the hole in the center of a cd
2 cut six or eight slots in the CD equidistant from each other
3 . place 5 rope strands through the center hole.
4. bend a strand into each of five slots, leaving one slot blank.
4. working counterclockwise, starting from the empty slot, count to the third strand and place it into the empty slot.
5. next count to the fourth strand and bend it snugly into the newly opened empty slot.
6. Now count to the third again and then the fourth and then the third again and keep alternating between the third and fourth strand.
If you make 8 slots you can use 7 strands and just use the third one repeatedly, however when using 5 strands you need to alternate between the 3rd and fourth strand.
You should twist the strands and make them as snug as you can as you build the rope. The CD is fragile, you will make a better loom from thin plywood. Trim the strands where you have extra plastic sticking out where you tied the knots to remake the loops on the ends.
When you get to the end of a strand it is easy to attach a new strand by using the loops on the end.
This rope is inferior to modern rope but is actually fun to make once you get going and could come in handy sometime. All the other plastic rope I saw being made used much smaller loops, I am using the whole bag. Also, by using the CD for the loom I am trying to improve my skill at improvising. The more time you spend trying to come up with other uses for items the easier it becomes to improvise and come up wit

I have been having fun playing around with very low cost Intex inflatables used as a raft or pack boat. I needed a 2 piece paddle and was going to make one when I saw one on amazon for $15. The paddle turned out to be a very nice medium use paddle. It is made by Seasense. I think the blade and aluminum shaft is more than strong enough to withstand light to medium use. The rivet that attaches the blade is aluminum and will wear eventually. I was very happy with the price which included shipping.
if you want to check out the paddle or the Intex rafts I have links below.
