How to: Fix Audio Sync Issues with Bluetooth Speakers configured in a Stereo Pair in macOS
I know, it's a mouthful! But, in this video I show you how to resolve latency mismatching between two Bose SoundLink Micro's running in a stereo link on macOS. This solution should work for any Bluetooth speaker running in a stereo link, paired to macOS.
I am curious if there is a similar tool or application for Windows - If you find something, let me know in comments!
A few additional notes on this solutions limitations: It will not work well for anything requiring real-time audio playback as it introduces additional delay. This includes video calling, gaming and the like.
After accidentally ripping out a wire while tearing down the warmer, I decided to test a few things (well, actually one thing, I guess). I then re-solder the wire that popped off, and end with some really cool video captures of the PET film heater recorded with the thermal camera, because why not?
Enjoy!
(Oh, and the warmer works just fine!)

This is a quick follow-up to the teardown and investigation of the HomeStarry holiday lights video I previously completed. This is the actual "mini-project" implementation in a color LED (RGB) version of the set. I discuss a few differences I noticed in the design, with a follow-up after running them for several weeks continuously.

This is a teardown of an ASUS RT-N66U router. I had been experiencing degraded performance with it, and thought I would take it apart, and see if I could resolve the issues with it. This video includes verifying the operation of the power supply and inspection of the PCB and passive cooling components. The intent is to have two additional videos in this project, including:
Part 2 - Refreshing firmware from Rescue Mode, restoring configuration file and optimizing settings.
Part 3 - Additional detail into the components used in this product, and observations after making hardware modifications in Part 1.

We had a pretty intense windstorm come through our area recently that was part of a massive storm system that affected a large part of the United States. I've used this anemometer for constant-air-speed measurements with good success, and thought why not try to see if I could capture the actual wind speed outside during this storm. Result? Not great. It seemed to only be able to capture the average wind speed, due to its low refresh rate. Oh well. It was fun to play around with and try to capture some of it on video.
At a few points where the wind speed really peaks, you can hear the motor (generator) spinning up quite intensely. I later found out that this anemometer is only rated to 65 mph...so pretty close to the 59 mph gusts measured nearby.
Enjoy!

Sorry for the wind noise, but I was in the middle of a windstorm!

Join me on a journey of the weirdness that is the HVAC configuration in the place we are renting. While the air conditioner and furnace seem to be functionally fine; the sizing, ducting and overall implementation are, well, less than optimal. After gathering more data from the thermostat logging, I then decided to give two different personal evaporative coolers a try. I know. But stick through the whole video. Reviews and analysis of the two units mentioned will be coming soon. Enjoy!

After a cross-country move a couple of years ago, this battery backup (that was possibly not handled well by the moving company) began chirping one day and then didn't stop. It turns out one of the cells had failed short and resulted in the UPS getting quite warm. This is what ensued.
Note: If you experience this situation, disconnect the battery backup from Mains AC, and then move the entire UPS to a well-ventilated, preferably outdoor space on heat resistant surface (like concrete, metal, etc...). Then disconnect and remove the battery, and use protection over your hands if the battery is too hot to touch. Leave the battery in this heat-resistant, outdoor space, and periodically check it. I left it outside on our concrete balcony to cool for about 24 hours. Since SLA doesn't have nearly the energy density of Li-Ion, it will get quite hot but will cool off after several hours depending on its size and then can be recycled.
Note: Our dog was shedding like crazy at the time of this recording, so please excuse the hair.

It started as just cleaning out the attic, with the intent to recycle some product boxes that I had. And then, well, I wanted to know what structurally made up this box. So, I recorded it. Pretty cool construction!

It's time for some more battery testing! This video features the capacity and internal resistance testing of the Tenergy Premium Pro 2800 mAh AA purchased in November 2021.
Note: The internal impedance testing is still in beta, and there will likely be some changes in how testing is performed. When that happens, I will post a new video with the revised and/or extended testing and link it to this video. For now, please use this internal impedance testing as a reference point between the batteries.

It's a battery charger combo! This one comes with a Tenergy TN480U AA/AAA Ni-MH battery charger and 8 Tenergy Ni-MH AA batteries (to be tested in a future video).
While it might not be as inexpensive as the UGREEN AA/AAA charger, this charger can charge 4 more batteries at a time, and comes with 8 AA batteries, or different AA/AAA combos depending on what you want.
