EEVblog #944 - Has the Future Arrived Yet? - Part 2
Wayback Wednesday PART 2 Are we living in the future as foreseen 30 years ago? Dave goes back to 1986 and takes a look at the Beyond 2000 books of the TV series of the same name and looks at what has come true and what hasn't. What predictions did they get right? And what technologies turned out to be complete flops? Forum: http://www.eevblog.com/forum/blog/eevblog-944-has-the-future-arrived-yet/
1 minute tech tip!
Dave shows how to remove sticker residue from test equipment without damage, using a plastic pencil eraser. No chemicals required!
It also works for those troublesome security stickers.
Handy for sprucing up equipment before resale on ebay.

Dave goes back 20 years and find an old PC Based Logic Analyser project of his that was published in Electronics Australia magazine back in 1996. He uncovers the original timing diagrams, schematics, and prototype. And tries to resurrect the old Borland Pascal 7 source code and Lattice ispLSI PLD chip code.
And the old Protel Autotrax for DOS PCB and schematic files.
Will it all work 20 years later?
A bonus side detour into the venerable Tektronix TDS210 TDS220 oscilloscope, the first review!
