SOME LIVE APHEX TWIN DRUM SHIT (DOG) // [REHEARSAL TAPES 1]
My first live performance with the new configuration is just over a month from today. It is sounding fucking awesome.
This video is me performing one of the fan favorites, a song called Dog. I started rehearsing the set with this song because it just has an awesome groove feel that I knew would work well on the live drums. It turns out that after a few weeks of practice this thing is the perfect live drum track. There's so many ways to hype it up with the beat.
I hope you enjoy this behind the scenes look at my live set, more rehearsal tapes will probably happen soon.

an original track for steemit open mic 36. My audio interface broke during this one - luckily I got the drums through the real microphones. Guitar audio is iPhone audio - and it's amazing that it still sounds pretty damn good.
technology is nice. thanks steve jobs & pals.
This is an original song and performance, originally created for Steemit Open Mic Week 35. Last week's splitscreen video was fun, and I wanted to try a fully composed song in that style this week.
The end result - pretty cool! I think the next step is to try and expand on the visual aspect. I want to take it from "amateurish but fun" to "damn that looks sick".
Stay tuned for week 36 :-)
Hello pals :-)
This week I wanted to really stretch out into the gnarliest math / prog mode. I was thinking about all that old Zach Hill / Vince Rogers (Tera Melos) drum shit, started out with the drum groove, then a whole song emerged.
What is cool is that it ended up being a catchy kinda thing - the vocals brought it all together.
Stay tuned to the end for a total drum freakout if that's your bag.
cheers!
