The Pine Shavings Worm Bin has an interesting concundrum it seems decent moisture wise but is starting to have mites show up which I have found typically means the bedding is too wet. So I added a bit of moisture but will leave the bags off the top and see if it dries out a bit but not too much other the next week or two. I added melon to lure the worms in both 10 gallon worm bins and with a successful haul of worms in bin 1 I had a second successful haul in bin 2. Now the material is still too damp at this point so we will need to continue to work on drying out the material in this system but now I have another bin that I can start adding food to as we try to get these castings in better shape.
