Are the wisest those who admit to knowing nothing? Socrates talk ??✏️
“As for me, all I know is that I know nothing,.”
― Socrates

“As for me, all I know is that I know nothing, for when I don't know what justice is, I'll hardly know whether it is a kind of virtue or not, or whether a person who has it is happy or unhappy.”
― Socrates

Socrates: "For I was conscious that I knew practically nothing..." (Plato, Apology 22d)
for I was conscious that I knew nothing at all, as I may say, and I was sure that they knew many fine [kala] things; and in this I was not mistaken, for they did know many things of which I was ignorant, and in this they certainly were more sophos than I was.

Socrates' "I neither know nor think I know" (in Plato, Apology 21d).

I seem, then, in just this little thing to be wiser than this man at any rate, that what I do not know I do not think I know either.

[So now I do not know what virtue is; perhaps you knew before you contacted me, but now you are certainly like one who does not know.]

I am wiser than this man, for neither of us appears to know anything great and good; but he fancies he knows something, although he knows nothing; whereas I, as I do not know anything, do not fancy I do. In this trifling particular, then, I appear to be wiser than he, because I do not fancy I know what I do not know.

"As for me, all I know is that I know nothing. Know thyself" actually predates Socrates and was used as an inscription at the Oracle of Delphi.

"I know that I know nothing" is a saying derived from Plato's account of the Greek philosopher Socrates: "For I was conscious that I knew practically nothing..." (Plato, Apology 22d,

Socrates is also known for other quotes, including:
"The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing" ("For I was conscious that I knew practically nothing...")
"I am the wisest man alive, for I know one thing, and that is that I know nothing"
"I know nothing except the fact of my ignorance"
