Not Algae, It's Iron oxidizing bacteria
While hiking trails in Perkin's Farm Worcester, MA, I discovered this stream with strange orange deposits. I thought it was orange or rust-colored algae after some investigation, I found out it's from a bacteria that consume iron in the water.
The rusty colored water produced is just a sign of the bacteria trying to make a living, turning ferrous iron (Fe2+) into ferric iron (Fe3+) to produce energy. The change from ferrous to ferric iron makes the iron insoluble, which produces a fuzzy or slimy texture. This often happens when previously anoxic (low oxygen) water in the soil comes in contact with atmospheric oxygen. In fact, this process only needs 0.3 ppm of dissolved oxygen to take place! The bacteria will begin to increase rapidly as more iron becomes available.

What's the best way of ending a conversation?
I don't mind a 10 or 15-minute conversation but when it goes for a half hour and I am only saying yes, No, OK, and that's terrible. It's really no longer a conversation it's just me listening to a person speak.
I am a kind compassionate person, I want to do the right thing. I am always willing to listen to people.
I do not mean an elderly person, they often have very interesting stories.
I am referring to a young person who might not have many people to listen to them.
They tend to talk to me because I am a kind compassionate listener.
Do I lie and say "I have to get going"?
Do I tell them the truth and say "I need to get my steps in and I only have a limited amount of time to do it"?
Or do I need to be blunt and say "This conversation is not conducive to both of us, I no longer want to continue this. I want to move on my way"?

Malacosoma americanum, Eastern Tent caterpillars can be terrible to ornamental and fruit trees.
If the owners are not careful they can infest apple, crabapple, and wild cherry.
Less frequently, they will attack the trees of Hawthorn, maple, peach, pear, and plum.

It has glacial boulders, oak forest, cellar holes, vernal pools, and stone walls.
Woods populated with aspen, birch, chestnut, and oak trees.
Birdwatchers may spot towhees and warblers, and in the spring, wildflowers lure visitors to the conservation area.

If you care about animals the best place to send money is your local animal shelter and local Wildlife centers. You will truly know where your money goes with a simple visit.
ASPCA and PETA euthanize more animals than they place and both have been exposed to stealing pets and euthanizing them.
PETA and ASPCA make a lot of money that goes to paying off the government to make laws to harm responsible pet owners. Pet owners and small caring breeders that follow the rule are always the first ones who are harmed. Irresponsible pet owners and backyard breeders do not follow any of the rules or laws. The backyard breeders and puppy mills know how to avoid all the laws aimed at them.
