I thought the 1N4148 might be better at getting to a forward voltage of 0.6V to 0.7V at low current than a 1N4001. So I compare them with a no load multimeter measurement. I doubled up the diodes because that is what I was doing in an earlier video where the diodes weren't giving me as high of a reference voltage as I wanted.
