In our Adobe Camera RAW photo editing tutorial, we show you the benefits of RAW photos. When taking photos, you have the option to shoot in JPEG, RAW, or both. RAW vs JPEG? RAW photos are the bread and butter of great photography, and it’s a good practice to shoot in both formats if you don’t already. So, what is a RAW photo? RAW files contain unprocessed picture data from your camera’s sensor, meaning that these photos give you much more control when it comes to camera RAW editing.
To edit these photos, you need to use Adobe Camera RAW which will integrates with your photo editing software, such as Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, After Effects, or Lightroom. After editing with Adobe camera RAW, you can edit your photo as you normally would, but make sure you are done using all the tools available to you in Adobe Camera RAW before you start editing. Once you start editing in Adobe Camera RAW it opens up a lot of editing options to you. The program enables adjustments to white balance, levels, hue, saturation, and luminance - all non-destructively. If you use Lightroom, you will most likely already be familiar with Camera RAW as it shares a similar interface.

Buy an a7S III here: https://amzn.to/3qPBwvp - This week we have some cinematic footage in 4k from the Sony a7s III with Cooke S4 Lenses. We've been wanting to take out our Cooke S4 cinema lenses with the a7sIII camera, and we had fun shooting with this combo!
One thing we love about the Sony a7s III camera is the new color science. The Sony a7S III cinematic video footage coming from the new sensor combined with cinema lenses like the Cooke S4 75mm lens we used really impressed us with what the camera could do.
If you're looking for Sony a7s III video samples, we shot a variety of scenes - both in studio and exterior in day and evening. The Sony a7S III 4K footage has the ability to push the color correction with its 10 bit codec - though most of our shots are straight out of camera. It was nice to see the Sony a7sIII cinematic footage have that leeway for post.
The Cooke S4 cinema lenses made a nice pairing to the a7s3 with the Metabones E to PL adapter. The Cooke S4 footage is very sharp but also has nice rolloff and we thought made for some nice video. Sony a7s III Cooke S4, good combo? What do you think?

Today on Film Jams we’re looking at how to take great product videos and photos on a budget. Taking enticing photos and videos of products, whether they be jewelry, equipment, burgers, etc. is a good technique for filmmakers and photographers to know. So let’s get this video & photography tutorial on how to take great product photos and videos started already!
We are currently updating our website, https://LitewaveMedia.com, with new equipment pictures for our rentals, so we’ll show you our process and tips for taking good product photos and videos.
The first thing you have to do is pick your background and a surface for the product. There are many options depending on the feel you want for your product videos and photos. Do you want a simple, sleek colored background? Black or white? Do you want shallow focus? Previously, we had taken photos on a glass table in our lobby area. They worked for our website, but we also wanted pictures with a less distracting background to showcase the equipment or “products”.
For the product pictures and videos we took for this video, we used a V-Flat, which we have a recent video on that you can check out, and for our surface we used a white table top we found at Ikea. This gave our product photography a clean corporate look.
For our videos, we lit the setup with Quasar Crossfade LEDs. We used a 4’ Quasar as the key light and a 2’ Quasar as an edge light. For the white background shots we used another 2’ Quasar to light the background more as well. We also used a 2’ Rhino slider as a dolly for our product videos.

This week we took our new Atlas Orion Anamorphic 65mm lens & ARRI Alexa Mini to downtown St. Petersburg, FL to capture some lens flares, bokeh & low-light footage. We tested Atlas Lens Co's A-set of anamorphic lenses (40mm, 65mm, and 100mm) last week and were impressed by the look and lens flares that these lenses produce. Come check out some Alexa Mini Anamorphic footage on the Atlas Orion lenses!
One our favorite focal lengths is the Atlas anamorphic 65mm lens, so we wanted to test it out in a low-lit area to see how it performed in a non-studio setting for a little lens review. If you're looking for anamorphic lenses sample footage we shot these Atlas Orion lenses in a variety of exterior locations so you can see the flare and bokeh with different lights. The footage was shot on ARRI Alexa Mini which we think the lenses pair really well with.
So is the Atlas Orion 65mm lens the best Anamorphic lens for the money? It really did perform well. Everything from street lights to car headlights created beautiful anamorphic lens flares in our sample footage.
For this Atlas Orion 65mm lens test we also wanted to try more movement in our shots. Our model walked amidst the downtown street lights as we shot from our Steadicam Aero 30 rig. Atlas Lens Co produces a nice lens, and so far we've liked what we've seen.

This week we compare Anamorphic VS Spherical lenses in our Atlas Orion VS Cooke S4 lens test! We’ve got Cooke S4 sample footage compared side-by-side to the Atlas Orion lenses footage. Cooke VS Atlas Orion anamorphic footage here we go!
In our Anamorphic VS Spherical comparison, you'll see the difference between Anamorphic VS Spherical lens flares. We also compare the bokeh differences as well in our Atlas VS Cooke lens test. The Atlas Orion Anamorphic lenses have a really unique look, and the Cooke S4 lenses do as well, but in trying to select lenses for our next film, we wanted to compare them to see what characteristics we liked about each lens.
The Atlas Orion Anamorphic Footage and the Cooke S4 footage was filmed on the ARRI Alexa Mini in 2.8k and 3.2k respectively. What do you think about the differences between Cooke VS Atlas Orion lenses? Which would you choose for your next film?

The Canon C300 Mark III cinema camera has the ability to shoot 4K 120 fps internally with no sensor crop. All C300 mk3 footage is shot on the Canon L Prime EF 35mm f/1.4 II and the Canon L Prime EF 50mm f/1.2.
If you're looking to see some 4k 120fps slow motion Canon C300 mark III sample footage, we filmed scenes at the beach right after sunset. The Slow Mo is very smooth even in low light. We also brought out a pair of 4' Nanlite Pavotubes to light our model. The Canon C300 4k 120fps slow motion video is very smooth and sharp, and holds up well in low-light. Our C300 mkIII low light test went up to 3200 ISO.
There's an abundance of features on the new Canon C300 mark III cinema camera, like the 4k120fps internal recording option. The internal digital image stabilization also worked surprisingly well which we use on a few shots in this test footage recording session. The Canon C300 mk3 footage really impressed us in 4K 120 FPS slow motion. What do you think about the cinematic footage in our Canon C300 mark III Test?

After a tough 18 hour drive, the Elfette Saves Christmas film crew finally arrived in New York City! Our 2019 holiday family film had some hiccups, but after a quick stop at B&H for a new hard drive, we prepped our elves and had cameras rolling in New York City.
Our elves fit in perfectly on the streets of Manhattan. Thankfully no one batted an eye seeing two elves argue on the side of the street. Even though we had an eventful first day in New York, there's still a ton of scenes to shoot, and the weather's starting to look grim. Elfette Saves Christmas filmed for 3 days in NYC, to capture that 2019 Holiday Movie vibe.
