This short film is the culmination of two years filming with the Tinsley Time and Travel Project.
Tinsley today is a post industrial suburb on the northern edge of Sheffield with an amazing but little studied history, and evidence of continuous human occupation for over 3000 years.
Using themes which have shaped the community since pre-history, those of transport travel and change, ‘Tinsley Time and Travel’ engages residents and the wider community in a broader understanding of Tinsley’s heritage of transition and resilience.
Employing a range of methods including archaeology, archives, photos, films, historical sites, natural heritage and memories, the project aims to tell the story of Tinsley's changing identity over time.
These different resources connect people to their local heritage; sharing the history of experiences and different ways of viewing the area through history.
