The Ultimate Guide to Working Ham Radio Satellites
This video takes you through every step of working Amateur Radio Satellites, mainly AMSATS. From preparation, tools, and execution. Unfortunately, we didn't make a contact in the video, but it still serves as a good example.
Windows sends a lot of diagnostic information and traffic over the network. If we are going to use packet radio with it, we must first clean things up a bit. Packet radio typically has a slow connection, so in this video we preform some tweaks to get things ready to run smoothly, and then check it at the end with Wireshark to ensure minimal network usage.

After this, basically 0 packets should be going over your Ethernet adapter while doing nothing.
Next we will configure the NPR (New Packet Radio) Master and Clients and install software to use over your Local Area Network.

Yup, I'm still alive. I am starting to get to s stable state where I can start making videos again.
This is an unboxing of the Yaesu FT-891. I had to sell the FT-450D. I got the FT-891 to have something mobile, as most of my operating will be outside.
We are looking at doing SOTA and POTA, and of course hammering the digital modes as well. I would like to start bringing in people on the videos and teach them about ham radio in some videos.
The quality isn't great, but its really what I have to work with for right now. Anyways, I look forward to coming back and putting out videos again.
As always 73!

We will be doing lots of cool things with this device. First in this video we talk about the general use case and give an introduction. Next we will prep a windows operating system to work as a master and client.
After that we'll start accessing resources over the 70cm amateur radio band via the NPR modem. We will build an amateur radio IP network.

Thought this mod was super cool. It looks to have been made by a KD8CEC. This will allow you to encode an SSTV message straight from your Quansheng UVK5 or UVK6 and send them. There's also a built in CW mode that we will explore in a later video. You can put in your call, grid, and call CQ. You can also put in a targets call to do a full QSO.

So I finally got my setup working the way I want it to.
I have a Baofeng f8hp On the receive end and a FTM-100D on the transmit side, transmitting at 5 Watts.
Both of these are wired up to my ARROW II Antenna. I managed to get a few contacts in the video with a NS3P, and KG4AKV, John at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJDdMdjxwFsjdzhXQFHVk2g
Just wanted to thanks everyone again for the support and the growth of the channel.

This video is not sponsored in any way by Btech, Baofeng or any of it's manufactures.
Baofeng has been a topic of controversy in the amateur radio community for the past few years.
I wanted to share my experience with the radio and talk about the good it's done.
I'm mostly talking about the Baofeng UV5R and F8HP.
These radios offer a cheap way to get into an otherwise expensive hobby.
I've done a lot with these radios, from digital modes, to satellite contacts, and wanted to talk about my history with them. They may not be the most quality, but you can't deny that they have done a good job of recruiting many people into the hobby.
If you'd like to buy one, you can buy one from the link below.I am an Amazon affiliate, so I do get a little commission if you use the link.

The FT3D and the FT2D have a function called backtrack. What it does is allow you to store a point in space in your FT3D. Then at any time as your moving around, you can see that point relative to you. So you can see the distance away from it, as well as direction. This may prove to be very helpful during outdoor activities or hikes.
