Moving along the landings, the column slipped through the positions of the 37th motorized rifle brigade of the RF Armed Forces and at 0:54 came under fire from the artillery of the 40th Marine Brigade of the Pacific Fleet, but still managed to successfully reach the western outskirts of Novodonetsk. The Armed Forces of Ukraine landed infantry, some of which remained to fight for Novodonetskoye, while the other advanced to no avail on the heights in the direction of Kermenchik. However, despite initially seizing the initiative, they were unable to build on their success. Being under constant fire, the enemy turned out to be disorganized, began to fire indiscriminately and randomly move around the village in armored cars, clearly not understanding what to do next. Another part of the AFU column, which tried to flank the positions of the RF Armed Forces, ran into a minefield and also came under artillery, which can be observed from 03:10. Having immediately lost one "Mastiff" and received damage to others, the enemy retreated.

Soon the grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which occupied most of Novodonetsk, also had to retreat. Unable to realize the initiative and unable to withstand the shelling of artillery, the enemy began a hasty flight. The key to the success of the battle for Novodonetskoye was the steadfastness of the fighters of the Kaskad OBTF and the battalion of the 5th motorized rifle brigade of the 1st Donetsk AK.
