Working part time as a tech, you can't always find parts for older amps. So when a basket case rolls in and the customer is okay with you gutting it to use for another project, you take what you can get. There are some things that aren't worth salvaging, but in today's video I'll show you what I consider valuable to keep and use in other future projects.
I predominantly purchase all my tube amp repair supplies from the great guys at Evatco. I am in no way endorsed or supplied free or discounted items for doing so. There are more affordable suppliers I can choose to use, however I am always extremely happy with the service from Kevin and the team and I am treated well as a long term customer. https://www.evatco.com.au/
This is a very small invite into a regular day of a large live performance.
I am very lucky to have such a life.
Watch if you're keen.

A small section of the massively funky Booshwa Empire, coming at you like a laserbeam.
John Hardaker is the Maestro on the guitar mixing up some funk, soul and blues.
Stefano (me) in the back with the amazing rhythm section that is backed by the solid beats from Rebecca Clarke. If it wasn't for her awesome clockwork solid rhythm, my basslines would mean nothing.
Singing is Lucia Neville, shattering your face with melting vocals.
Accompanied by Lead and Rhythm guitarist Jack Perry.

So, lockdown again. A shame really. But what do you do?
Well, I got tired of sitting around. There was only so much chores, practice and things I could handle. So I went out on the bike, stayed within my 10km radius that we're allowed to ride in, and decided to tell you all a little bit about my next project.
I've started a podcast. Bikes Burgers Beers. It's available on all the platforms. It's pretty self explanatory what it's likely gonna be about. We've had guests like The Aussie and The Indian on the show already. You can find her channel here - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5ItGyP-z6-sVUxeQF4pmsw
I've also mentioned we'll be getting a zoom "visit" from Throttle Downunder as well. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCX7RmBAf_OIha6ePatwq86Q I can't wait for that episode.
And there will be loads more I didn't mention in this video!

However, since I have made almost no money in a year and a half, I have decided this is what I'll be concentrating on. There is a Patreon page attached to this show if you wish to show your support. That would be both amazing and very highly appreciated. You know it's a known fact that by becoming a patreon member for Bikes Burgers Beers, you instantly gain 40% more attraction to anyone within a 5 km radius. No refunds!

Had to upload the video again, ironically due to an audio issue.
A lot of music teachers and school teachers have moved to online lessons using their existing computers. When it comes to giving a quality lessons, it is important to try and deliver the best audio and video quality possible.
Naturally, this is dependant on our internet connection speed. However, in today's video we will try and improve the audio quality significantly using a USB Audio Interface which connects a good quality microphone to our computer.
In today's example I'll be using Zoom and have set up a meeting room to illustrate the quality you should expect your students to experience. This includes both my vocals as well as an electric guitar plugged directly into the USB Interface so our students can hear both your playing as well as your instruction nice and clearly.
The equipment I've used in this video are as follows:
Scarlett Focusrite Solo - https://katoombamusic.com.au/brand/focusrite/ as well as an older M-Audio M-Box 2 in Post-Production
Audio Technica AT2035 - https://www.audio-technica.com/cms/wired_mics/cebb57a269d232ee/index.html as well as ART M-One Condenser Mic for PP.
Microphone Lead - Any new XLR Cable will be fine
Laptop - Lenovo Thinkpad T450S - Using Zoom, Reaper
You can also use a Mac, Windows, and/or Linux Operating System
Headphones - Audio Technical ATH-M20x - as well as KOSS Pro 4s in PP - https://www.koss.com/headphones/over-ear-headphones/pro4s
I'd like to thank Katoomba Music for their support in allowing me to use the premises, and their equipment for this video. If you have any questions, give them a shout! Shop Local!

This customer came to me a little while ago who wanted better tone. So I removed the small, cheap Tone and Volume pots along with the horrible, little Tone Caps.
They have now been replaced with Burns 500K pots and nice big Orange Drops.

I bought one of these KLONe kits off Ebay from the seller below.
http://www.ebay.com.au/usr/protaitone1012?_trksid=p2047675.l2559
I'm not affiliated with the seller. I just randomly bought a couple of kits.
It looked good and the price wasn't extraordinary. So I purchased two kits. I've bought two kits in the past for other things, and found that the kits vary in parts and quality. So I was looking for consistency and to see if there were any missing pieces.
The kits are well put together. The paint job is nice, but not very durable at all. The components are all quality. The values of the caps and resistors are within tolerances, they give you enough wiring and solder to complete the kit two times over.
All you really need is a soldering iron with a fairly small tip, and a screwdriver, along with some skills.
Look out for Part II.
