Reporters asked him yesterday as well, like, Hey, they want you to resign your own party. The people that elevated you think you need to get the hell outta here, you gonna resign? And he said, no. And then later in the day, Kevin McCarthy was asked to weigh in on it. And you know what McCarthy said, well, I'm not gonna, I'm not gonna ask him to. I think it's up to the voters to decide that. So he wants to let Santo sit. And of course he has very good reason to want Santos to not resign or be forced out of office. And that is because Santos flipped the district from blue to red. It was a traditionally Democratic district, but that was a pickup seat for the Republicans.
So if Santos gets booted for being a fraud, you think those people who traditionally vote Democrat are gonna go back and vote for another Republican? Hell no, they're not. So they would lose that seat, not just while the county sets up a special election, but they would probably lose it for good. And Kevin McCarthy can't risk that when he is got such a narrow majority as it is. But that is a reality he's probably going to have to face at some point, because Santos is under investigation from international federal authorities, state authorities here in the United States, local authorities back in his district, uh, authorities in Washington, dc like four different investigations at least that we know of with possibly another Federal Elections Commission investigation in the pipeline. So at least four, possibly up to five very soon. And it's not just, you know, little odds and ends trying to pick on him. We're talking about potentially serious
Crimes including fraud and deception. And that could actually put Santos away in prison. So, yeah, uh, the guys got a very, uh, I just say shaky future at this point. Yesterday also, the Democrats, the day after they filed their ethics complaint with him to the newly gutted office of Congressional Ethics. Yesterday, a group of, uh, Democrats who have military experience sent a letter to Kevin McCarthy, begging him to not give Santos access to classified information that he might be privy to as a member of Congress. The Supreme Court is set here a case this term that could dramatically change the internet forever. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins joins me now to talk about what's happening. Case is long overdue, man. I mean, this is, there has to be you, you have a division, obviously. You've got conservatives that say, well, anything goes. And then you've got liberals that say, if we disagree with what you say, we're not going to, we're gonna censor it and we're not gonna show it. Those are the kind of, the polarized avenues here. Supreme Court has to decide though, what happens when the social media understands that people are being harmed, murdered, raped, kidnapped by the things that they post. And they clearly know with that, take the algorithms out, they clearly know that what they're posting is causing all that. What's your take?
Yeah. This particular case is absolutely horrendous. You have a young woman that was murdered by terrorists, and in the social media feed of the individual that did the killing, there were always recommended videos put out there by Isis. So it seems pretty clear you've got people being radicalized because there's no regulation over what is allowed and what is not. And you actually have both Democrats and Republicans, like you said, they do have two totally different positions.
Mm-hmm.
But they're both in agreement that we gotta do something about Section 230, which is Section 230 in case anybody doesn't know, say you are not liable as a platform for what goes out on your platform.
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
And when you look at the details of this case, obviously it's hard to say that, no, we should let people post whatever. But repealing Section 230, in my opinion, also could lead to just broad censorship across the board. And that, that's what scares me a little bit about this.
Here, I'm, I'm looking at it as a lawyer would see it. Okay. First of all, the numbers of cases that we're finding with human trafficking that are completely related to the conduct of, of the internet, social media, the numbers of cases where we're seeing people bullied to the point that they're committing suicide, completely related to the conduct of social media. Now, here's the point. If you're gonna make a profit, that's okay. Make all the profits you want, but don't come to court when I have them in court and I'm saying, you posted this, you, it was foreseeable that what you posted was gonna cause this child to go out and commit suicide. That you knew that. Anybody with a brain should know that. So don't come to court and say, hey, we have a sophisticated, sophisticated algorithm system. Don't tell me that. Put human beings involved in that process. And if it's too expensive, then by, you're gonna have to make less profit.
Yeah.

And the thing that worries me about removing Section 230 altogether is that if that happens, you will have social media companies that overreact, and that's where the exiguous censorship would come into play. They would look at anything, you know, even political content saying, well, you're a little extreme here. We have to ban you from our platform. Oh, this, we can't really go after. We're gonna ban you from our platform. And so that's the slope that we have to avoid, but we have to do something about, about the problem too.
Right. Well, it's, it's a tangible problem. I mean, you know, as you know, you know what, what I do and what this law firm does, we are in the middle of these cases all the time, and we always have some cat saying, well, we got an algorithm system. It seems to work for. You know, that's ridiculous. They're in the, this is, these are companies that make a profit. Okay. Big, big profit.
Billions.

According to a new report from Business Insider, Donald Trump is furious about the fact that he is currently hemorrhaging money just to pay for all of his legal fees. So the ramifications of the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe V Wade, if of course it sticks and if, you know, there's still a chance it may not. But what's happening right now is conservatives around the country are already saying, okay, if we can just overturn Supreme Court cases, I've got one that I would like to bring to the Supreme Court to get overturned. Because now that there's basically not a, a stare decisis, hey, no court precedent. We can challenge and overturn anything we want. And Republican governor Greg Abbott from the state of Texas has already singled out which specific Supreme Court case he wants to have overturned and it just so happens to be a decision from the early 1980s that says that every American, including undocumented immigrants in the United States of America, are entitled to a free public education. Abbott wants that overturned because, you know, he says he swears up and down that, hey, this is putting a huge burden on the state of Texas.

And what he did, not just this horrible statement, but he is really exposing this corporate mentality of climate or, or even the congressional mindset of climate change is, who cares? I know it may not seem like it, but apparently Donald Trump does have an actual real good lawyer working on his legal team right now. That was actually added towards the end of August. You know, couple weeks after the FBI went down to Mar Lago and took all their documents back, or took all the governments documents back. That lawyer is a man by the name of Christopher Ki, who happens to be Florida's former solicitor. General has argued cases in both his public life and his private practice in front of the United States. Supreme Court has successfully defended multiple white collar criminals here in the United States. This guy is a good lawyer, and Donald Trump put him on a 3 million retainer cuz they know he is good. His allies down in South Florida had been telling him, Go hire ki This guy knows what he's doing, He can help you.
And Trump listened to those people, hired this lawyer. So why are things going so poorly for Donald Trump then? Well, according to a massive new report from the Washington Post out this past weekend, it's because Donald Trump's not listening to a single thing that Mr. Ki has had to say. Instead, Donald Trump is of course, listening to his other lawyers, Christina, Bob, Alina Haba, you know, the people who may end up having to hire lawyers for themselves because they've may have lied to the fbi. So, you know, always good to take their advice over the guy that successfully has argued in front of the United States Supreme Court. Right? Why not put Haba the parking garage lawyer out there on TV every day and force ki to stay in the shadows where nobody will listen to him? So here's the thing. The Washington Post actually tells one specific story about how when Ki first came along, even though it was after the FBI went to Maralago, he had strongly tried to, you know, convince Donald Trump stop antagonizing the fricking FBI in the doj. We still might be able to cut some kind of deal with them. We might be able to avoid not just criminal charges, but an actual investigation. If you just sit back and play nice with them and stop demonizing them every day on truth, social or in these idiotic interviews and rallies, you do just shut your mouth and let me handle this.
We all know how that worked out for Mr. Ki. Donald Trump has not shut up. Donald Trump has not turned down the heat against the doj. But let me read this because this is truly fascinating. Again, this is the Washington Post, continuing to attack the Justice Department and the fbi, he argued, was likely to cause federal authorities to be more aggressive. Donald Trump is raising a lot of money right now off of the FBI, going down to Margo, he's got a lot of sympathetic mom and pop donors out there sending him tons of money. He is loving every second of it, but what these little mom and pop donors do not realize is that a lot of the money that they're sending down there to Donald Trump, isn't being used by his save America pack to actually save America from anything. A lot of it is being used to pay his legal bills. According to a new report in the month of July alone, Donald Trump's save America political action committee spent roughly $1 million on lawyers representing Donald Trump in all of the various investigations that are currently taking place. And let's not forget this happened prior to the FBI going down to Mar Lago. So I have to imagine that the August expenditures on legal fees are gonna be way, way, way more than what July was. And Donald Trump doesn't have to open up his own wallet for any of it. He can just take the money from the political action committee and pay his lawyers. It's 12 law firms that they paid in the month of July alone, 12 law firms imagine having so many legal problems, that one law firm isn't enough, even 2, 3, 4, 5, half a dozen. No, you have to have 12 different law firms representing you because you're in that much legal trouble.
And again, that was just the month of July. I, I, I have to imagine that the number is greater than 12 and it's gonna be greater than 1 million for the month of August because of the FBI raid the new lawsuit he's filed against the DOJ, trying to get a special master put in place. But again, the worst part is that this money is not coming from his pockets, which is probably why he's paying 12 different law firms, because Hey, it's just fun money, right? And these donors, I guarantee you have no idea that this is even happening. You wanna know what's even worse than that is the fact that this is totally legal. He is 100% under campaign finance laws allowed to do this. He is not breaking any rules by using his political action committee money to pay his legal fees. Not a single rule is broken by him doing that. And that is the biggest problem because he's raising money from all of these people across the country. You know, a lot of them not wealthy to put it mildly and they're sending him $5. They're sending him $20 to this political action committee to save America pack. And he's turning right around and handing it over to these massive multimillion dollar defense
Law firms. Also, he doesn't have to spend his own money. The guy claims to be worth $10 billion. You don't need to send him any money to pay his legal fees. He is more than capable of doing it himself, whether or not he's willing to do it himself. That's another story, but he sure can handle the bills and he doesn't need mom and pop Republicans out there sending him their life savings just because they're, you know, sucked into the cult. Granted, I have no sympathy for those people. If you lose everything because you give it to a con man, at this point, after we've been screaming at you for six years, that he's a con man, that's on you. So I'm not gonna shed a tear if you give everything away to this man, but I am gonna continue to issue the warnings that you're being a fool. And he is once again, pulling the wool over your eyes about what that money is actually being used for.

Now, she said more, and I'm gonna read that in a moment, but so far she's dead on right? When we get to that first Republican debate, the questions those candidates are gonna be asked, most of them are gonna pertain to Donald Trump. What do you think about having a nominee that might be a convicted felon? You know, what do you think about the indictments? Has the DOJ become weaponized against conservatives, yada, yada, yada. All in reference to what's happening to Donald Trump, right? That's how the media's treating it. That's the only reason Chris Christie is getting any oxygen in this race is cuz he's out there beating the hell outta Trump every day over these indictments. And Nikki Haley says, enough, we wanna talk about issues. And then here's the issues that she tells Fox News. They should be talking about. We've got China that's literally trying to be at war with us. You've gotta run building a bomb. You've got North Korea detaining a soldier and testing ballistic missiles. We need to focus on the debt and the lack of transparency in schools and crime and the craziness on the border. We can't be sitting there focused on lawsuits over and over again.
China is not trying to be at war with us, like China is not trying to start an actual military conflict with the United States. They're not actively doing that. That's simply not true. That is more scaremongering from Republicans because they know that nothing draws a person to vote Republican faster than the threat of a thermonuclear war. Which of course is why she brings up North Korea testing ballistic missiles, something North Korea does constantly. Like that's not a new thing that just started. Um, she brings up Iran building the bomb. No they're not. And by the way, we wouldn't even have to be concerned about that if Donald Trump had not pulled us outta that treaty that we had with Iran. So, you know, blame him for that. And then you start talking. We knew transparency in schools. What, what does that even mean? Like what? Transparency in schools. What does that even mean?

Where the people come around and gather up a bunch of the ballots and go turn 'em in for you. Do that if you can. And that, that is what has set Mike Lindell off. Lindell believes that we should only be using the paper ballots and we should only have one day voting same day A and if you don't go and cast your ballot in person on a paper ballot that is then hand counted, then everything is terrible. But because the r n C is now saying, Hey wait a minute, we, we've told people that and it didn't work out. So we need to open our, open our minds to doing other things to, to help us out cuz we're getting crushed here. Lindell says, oh no, and he actually told Talking Points memo that this may be proof that the Republican Party is involved in some, as he put it in his own words, grand scheme.
So what is that grand scheme? Well, let me read you this from Talking Points memo. It's a bit long. Bear with me. Lindell explained a talking Points memo that he saw. The new R n C plan is a component in an effort to thwart Trump, who is currently running for reelection in a crowded Republican presidential primary field. Lindell suggested this could be part of a grand scheme perpetrated by the uni party and the machine companies. So a grand scheme involving the Republican party that clearly according to Lindell, does not want Donald Trump. And they have now partnered with the machine companies, of course, referring to the voting machine companies to keep Donald Trump out of office. It's quite a theory and it gets dumber.
