This was a very special experience that we were so lucky to have captured in the heart of Mexico City. The evening started with an incredible set from @lunasantamusic, including a cacao ceremony and into this improvised live set incorporating members from Luna Santa, Onanya (@HernanSuarezMusic), and Brenda McMorrow @kirtanwallah. It's always such a deep joy to explore the energies of new places and a new constellation of collaborators. The venue is an old church so it also carries a very special spiritual energy and the people of Mexico are so engaged and connected with the set. Because this set was in Mexico, the tracks are mostly in Spanish, my second language as I am based in Guatemala. Having felt such a deep resonance with what landed from this first remix, the two decided to dive deeper into this collaborative energy. Mose has taken all 7 original tracks from Poranguí’s self-titled album and has reworked them with his own signature touch. This project is a true testament to the brotherhood of two musicians coming together to offer a potent fusion of their own unique energies. In addition to honoring the elements, this compelling collection of remixes offers the listener a full range journey following an arc of energy commonly used in ecstatic dance. The album starts slow with “Ganesha” and “Canto de la Selva” before slowly building energy into the mid-tempo explorations of “Danza del Viento” and “Otorongo”. From here the track lifts off into a full on tribal dance ceremony with “Oxum” and “Tonantzin”. The album lands gently down to the etheric “Stardust” to complete the journey with a deep meditative downtempo odyssey. This song has a universal feeling to it and due to it's universal sound it has been attributed to several songwriters such as CJ Ananda Page. This particular version is an interpretation of an Estonian variation written by Agne Nelk.
